🔫Guns all new guns thread

I'd also be ok with a .308 in bolt action, but still has a magazine like the Savage 10 BA. 10 rounds+1 is still double what I have with my .270.

Recoil for a .308 makes semi-auto a little unnecessary in a way

68, any knowledge of Tikka? I keep seeing it pop up and how reliable it is, seems to be in the affordable range also. I'd never heard it as a popular option until recently.

My brother in law had one and he loved it. Shot pretty decent, from what I remember.

If I were going for a 308 AR rifle today, I'd start with the Larue match grade upper and build a lower off of it. I did a bit of upgrading to the M&P 10, after I got it.

I may have been a bit stoned, but I could have sworn I saw that upper went for $1800 on 2 different sites

It's $1600 on his site and he doesn't sell them anywhere but his site. I wouldn't doubt finding someone re-selling one and it going for much more. He keeps expanding production but cannot keep up with demand.

Meh... it's worth it. Everything in that building is manufactured to super tight tolerances and he personally tests every firearm/upper before it leaves there. Also has a lifetime warranty. You shoot enough to fuck up the barrel, he replaces it, free of charge.

It's worth it if you have the land and easy accessibility to fully utilize it. If I lived out in the country again and could do it anytime I wanted, I'd consider it. For an occasional shooter or something for the future if I need it, not worth it.

Still fighting my impulsive urge to buy

I see no scenario where I'll ever need to or even have the sight line to shoot beyond 600 yards to where a more popular cartridge will out perform my .270.......I could spend $120-$1600 on .270 ammo instead of buying a .308 or Creedmoor and that ammo.

But .270 ammo is harder for me to get. Old timers are hoarding it, there are fewer options/diversity in ammo as it hasn't received the attention that the 6.5 has. If I try to buy in store, I can barely find .270 at all and have to rely on online buying almost entirely.

The Savage Axis II Precision is over 2 lbs heavier than the MSR 10 with 18" barrel......longer range vs. more practical hunting rifle. Neither of which I actually need  I was going to just buy the S&W 9mm folding carbine for fun, but it's out of stock with no estimated return date. I'm being like a girl when you ask her what she wants for dinner.

My mortgage, child support, home renovations, and dating says I can't afford it

I really need to quit smoking. I could save $200/mo in cigars

 I don't use credit cards. Now I will use Sezzle and other 0% financing options on a set time frame. Which is why I usually buy from Bass Pro...6 months, 0%, auto pay set.

y'all could save a lot of money if you just bought bear spray

Impulse got the best of me. Bought a suppressor for a gun I don't own yet just because it was half off and I want one

What did you get?

https://kgm-tech.com/r30-suppressor/

Also bought (cheaper from a different site) https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/savage-msr-10-hunter-semi-auto-rifle

Now I'm struggling with the scope. I may have to run offset irons. A lot of times, hunting in Florida means you end up with a deer so fucking close you see nothing but a brown spot in the scope.

Nice. Hadn't heard of that suppressor.

I need to go ahead and get one. I keep putting it off, hoping that they'll get removed from the NFA.

There are some good Youtube videos testing it out. Some pretty harsh reviewers gave it a solid thumbs up, so for $450 instead of $900ish, I'll give it a shot. Worst case, I try to sell it for closer to retail

Side note - Buying online and the FFL processing shit is annoying. This is the first time I haven't bought direct and they don't make it easy to found out who the gate keeper of the FFL SOT is at Bass Pro.
