šŸ”«Guns all new guns thread

The OG night scopes were fucking crazy and only useable to 100 yards.

The cheap shit I bought was good out to 300 yards, recorded video, and would last 12 hours on one charge.

The quasi-prepper in me wants one of those cheap ones just for SHTF in case of emergency. So it doesn't need to be long distance, just want to spray some mofos with the AR in the dark  . Without a way to charge them or have a stockpile of batteries make them rather pointless for general preppers there (for say, hunting).

I still want one

I really want a Browning Citori or Beretta Silver pigeon.

The fillipina I'm....dating/banging? is trying to sell one of her dead husband's rifles. Don't have the details on it yet, but she showed me a picture. One of those commemorative things. Looks like a Henry lever action. Need to get more info from her...lots of engraving, and not just 24k gold plated decorative stuff, but the entire barrel. Totally not my thing, but it is functional and I want guns not in my name.

She said she had more, but no mention of selling any of those. Since she's kinda scared of them, none of the details really make sense. Sometimes her lack of understanding my questions muddy the conversation. I just want another gun or two that's not in my name, but no interest in collectors shit unless I get it for a steal. I was hoping it was just going to be an AR or some handguns, something useful to not have documented

Did you buy the pinay's guns before breaking up with her because she wanted steak?
hahaha. So she really only wanted to sell 1. She did text me last night asking for help with it. The problem: It's a collectors item. A lever action 150th anniversary Winchester .45, engraving all over, hardware and barrel 24k gold plated. 3k retail, but I haven't seen anyone be able to sell it for more than $1,500....and that was an auction site. And she lost the certificate and they shot it.

I have no interest in gold plated anything or collectors items. She's gonna have a hard time selling it and taking it to a shop, she'll get robbed blind.

They're usually some kind of commemorative thing. Fully functional but most people don't shoot them.

So, I'm not planning on openly carrying, but I do like...
-being able to wear an owb holster under a long shirt. That will be way more comfortable.
-not having to hide it in the truck. Having it more accessible is nice, if I have to draw in a hurry.

The engravings are really nice. Trains, wagons, cowboys....in the stock and on the side plates. 3k is a lot to spend on something that just sits in a box or on display.

Agreed. I'm not spending that on a lever action.

But... fudds love that kind of shit. They use it like a family heirloom and pass it down the line.

Realistically, I won't either. I do go out on trails a lot in cooler weather, so it'll be nice to not have to CC when I'm out there. I would open carry if I'm in a smaller town or travelling, but actually in Gainesville....not often.

Yeah, I couldn't open carry either. Don't want to invite people to engage whether they agree with it or not.

Even when I was less of a fan of guns, I never was afraid of seeing a gun
