📺Television Movie/tv thread

1923 - Ford is solid. Overall good and I have 1 or 2 episodes left, but as it gets later on, it really starts to bog down. Too much time focusing on romance between the 2 nephews. Somewhere around Ep 8 I started getting impatient and just FF and watched it through the frames until they got off either couple just laying in bed talking.

We started watching Monsieur Spade with Clive Owen. NIce if you like who-done-its, period piece set in southern France in1963, well done on sitting the atmosphere, wise cracking American tough guy, EVERYONE smoking ciggys, drinking wine, multiple murders, chain smoking Nuns, bit of mysticism and terrorism. Very slow for those that like a lot of fights and gun play.

Kind of wish they'd let the franchise die, but I may have to watch this just to see what they do with William "Walter Peck" Atherton.

was anyone that buff back then? even boxers and bodybuilders weren't
Absolutely, just not nearly as common. For example, I've ready a number of stories about some frontiersmen and unknown heroes of the Revolutionary War, found from old journals, letters, etc. that describe these "warriors" as being very well built and 2 or 3 times the size of a normal man. Can't remember names off hand, but one frontiersman was feared by the indians who gave him some terrifying name because he loved to kill Indians and he'd kill them by hand, 2 or 3 on one. Writings say he was half way to 7' tall and the muscle of 3 men. He was basically invincible to them.

Obviously genetic freaks combined with living a tough life. I bet you could get jacked building log cabins and shit

Old Dads. Watched some of the Bill Burr show. The first 10 minutes are hilarious. But then it’s a little too familiar. It’s like watching my life, pissed off at the over the top wokeness and calling people cunts  It’s actually almost annoying to watch if Burr wasn’t so great.

My wife and I binged some of the "Squid Games" reality game show. It's so fucking good. Normally shit like this is a hard pass for me but it's insanely devious. The creators are some evil motherfuckers.

Griselda. Sofia Vergara mini series on Netflix about a female drug dealer in Miami. Not bad. They tried to ugly her up for the role but she is still 1000x hotter than the real Griselda.

This looks better than the 2nd one, easily. Curious to see how Marvel actually plays into it and if any of the roles are more than just a cameo.
Looks like they changed the name to Deadpool & Wolverine, so I assume Wolverine is more than a cameo.
