📺Television Movie/tv thread

Rebel Moon was decent but holy shit, chill with the fucking slo mo.
It was kinda fucking weird. It's like they stole parts of all the famous movies and mashed them together.

We start out with a viking farmer leader. Then we get a Nazi dressed villain. Enter the female bad ass hero that's a requirement now. Then we have Hunham with an Irish accent that comes and goes. A robot with a conscience. We have a few Orcs, a couple of Star Wars ripoff aliens. Then an asian chic who used 2 swords like they were light sabers. Blasters. I don't know WTF was going on with a gaint robot bodied spider and the torso/head of an alien (this entire scene was...pointless?).

Overall an unoriginal plot. Oppressors abuse village. The loud mouth coward gets his leader killed and then redeems himself at the end. 1 saves the day and convinces them all to fight. A trope we've seen a million times.

It was still an entertaining movie, but it was kind of a fucking mess.

I read that it was originally supposed to be another Star Wars movie but Lucasfilms sold the script.

It was ok. Especially as a part 1. Mainly assembling the team. I assume part 2 will be a lot more action.

I thought there were a few that didn't have a female love interest but it's been a while since I read them.

Some of the stuff in the books is ridiculous. There was one where Reacher had spent the summer building pools in the Florida Keys or something so he was even more buff than usual and at the end of the book his pectoral muscle literally stops a bullet.

But they are a lot of fun.
Just finished book 15. Reacher didn't get laid in this one. For shame.

Guess Iger was full of shit. looks they are banking on star wars fans continuing to buy tickets regardless.

Yep....and they'll see a loss. Maybe not major, but they'll see a loss. They're fucking morons for handing over the franchise for a 2nd time to a feminist who openly knows nothing about, nor even cares, about the Star Wars Universe.

I another article she is quoted as saying she want ls to make men uncomfortable.

Brilliant business plan. I would have watched this shit movie but now I will avoid it like the plague.

Many will. I followed some Star Wars FB pages before I was banned from them...A LOT of the die hard fanboys had been giving up on them due to Disney ruining them. The casual fan/tv watcher will see it on Disney, but the big fanboys and people sick of woke shit, they'll continue to see their ratings drop.

They've literally seen the backlash of "go woke, go broke" with continuously declining numbers and very poor numbers for their overly woke movies and they just double down

How does she plan on making men uncomfortable? Is she getting naked? That would probably work for me. Don't want to see that shit.

I'm near the end of re-watching Vikings....mostly, I FF through the Floki/Iceland shit. But as I watching the Bjorn/Uber/Lagertha battle vs. King Harold/Ivar....holy shit is there a majorly cringe moment. Bjorn's new (swedish?) wife of the forest dart people. There's a scene where she's trying to run up a small hill and she looks like a 5 year old struggling to get up a dirt pile and she's slinging this small soft pouch and it just knocking out huge men left and right with a small hit with these stupid little bag. It nearly ruins the entire fucking thing until she easily gets killed the first time she's not blindsiding someone.

With bad writing. They consistently confuse sexism or "making men uncomfortable" with just terrible writing. It's not female leads/heros people object to, it's shitty stories with no development or depth.
at this point making men uncomfortable is just being rude. Like not properly disposing of a tampon. Its not art its a temper tantrum

Temper tantrum is a good way to put it. Not sure why they would try/allow for decades of fandom to be built only to tear it down. Will it appeal to the “new” consumers they are going after???

this is just part of woke indoctrination led by foolish liberal white college educated women. men doing men things is toxic because a tiny percentage of men do terrible things we're expected to believe white western male culture, which has brought us all lives of comfort freedom and security is toxic and needs to be less and fun and scolding because of reasons.

and so you have a world with the budlight boycott and Reacher being popular

No. It's like forcing a black driver into NASCAR and other absurd actions NASCAR made that alienated some of their fans. Country Music Awards doing a trans show and being woke that alienated fans. They alienate their fan base to pander to people who will never listen to country music or watch NASCAR. The woke temper tantrum would rather lose money for their idiotic ideology.

Of course. As much as I'd like to boycott Disney for their stupidity and trying to ruin the franchise.....it's still Star Wars and it's still better than nothing. Although the stuff with Jon and Dave have been mostly unscathed so far.
