so some updates, I got a decent bonus but hadn't gotten a raise; apparently, there's some internal stuff that has to go thru our board (we're a not for profit) and we will be getting these retroactively. Yay! Also the backstabbing coworker who I'd been giving the cold shoulder to gave me a big shout-out in our org magazine without warning me, should I forgive her somewhat? I did compliment her top the other day.
 
oh also my boss hadn't got me a xmas gift which was odd but turns out the personalized notebook was late. It came with that fancy gin that is purple that turns blue if you add citrus. So good news all around. Well, except I did a press release at the last minute on some litigation the trade press picked up on and now I'm worried it might impact litigation because I don't trust the reporter and can't believe she doesn't have ulterior motives.

Speaking of gifts, I didn't add it to the bitch thread around Christmas. Every year the ex and I have always paid for the gift from the kid to mom/dad. So this year I did it, just $30 or so. And the ex stopped and it never crossed my kid's mind to bring it up. This kid....rarely even get a happy birthday or happy fathers day out of her if it's not pulled out of her and clearly the ex makes no effort to remind her to say such courtesies. I'm so fucking done trying to be the good guy with her.

She should be done believing in Santa, so it's time to throw the ex under the bus. Christmas morphed from "Santa comes to both houses no matter where you wake up to that morning" when she was really young because the Ex is a fucking retard to bring that up and it changed into "Santa always leaves all the good/big stuff at Dad's house and almost nothing at mom's so mom can give all the gifts so the kid knows that MOM bought everything for her while Dad doesn't buy much because she's a fucking narcissist". At this point I can't wait for my daughter to see I made it about the magic of Christmas and not about myself the way she did.

FTR, I haven't had any beef with the ex for a year now and we've gotten along pretty well. But shit like that pisses me off. As fun as it is, I'm glad the Santa/make believe stuff is coming to an end (it should have already, but the way these things are today, I'll take the extended innocence)

I'm having all the rotten t1-11 on my house replaced, which is most of the bottom 2' all the way around from the previous dumbfuck owner placing landscaping up against the house.

The workers just broke off a hose bibb, so no water.

Well it was 42 years old and rusted, it didn't take much to break it off. I had one replaced a few years ago because it was in shitty condition. It actually worked out. They had the stuff on hand to fix it, so they saved me a plumbers visit when I would have needed to replace that one in the near future :lol:
 
Non-bitch thread. W2 came in last night, already filed this morning. I paid in last year, getting 3k back this year. Not sure how that happened, but kick ass. I don't usually pay, but the paying back covid advanced child tax credit or whatever. But this is more than usual to get back.

I'll be painting my house soon. By that I mean, I'll be paying someone to do it. I have no patience to paint T1-11
 
Well fuck... just caught a 7 day ban on youtube. They notified me that a shooting video was against their child violence policy. The video was of my wife (30 at the time) shooting a 45 cal 1911.

I appealed and it was immediately rejected because a child is in the video.

She does look younger than she is. Went to a local fair once and the chick didn't ask for her id, just gave her a kid's wrist band. She was mid 20s that time. :lol:
