I had been considering changing from state farm auto insurance since their pedo books/schools issue, but never got around to it. Well yesterday I get my semi-annual bill, which went up again for the 2nd renewal in a row. The reason. "Your make and model of vehicle has a high payout rate".

Fuck I hate insurance. I haven't had a ticket or claim in almost 20 years, but becuase of other douchebags my monthly payment has gone up $50 in 2 increments in a year. I sent a not so nice email to my agent last night.

Just signed up with Progressive this morning for back down to my original rate. Rates have still gone up, I was paying like $70/mo several years ago and now it's $100. But better than $150. Now the pain in the ass is getting State Farm cancelled. They don't make it easy. And why exactly do they require my new carrier and policy number? Why can't I say, "none of your fucking business" ?

If you drop your insurance and your previous carrier doesn't have proof that you are covered they will report you as uninsured and you can have your license suspended.

BTW. I'd kill for $150 a month car insurance. Currently paying $1532 per month.

We have full coverage on 2 vehicles and pay less than $100 per month. Not sure on exact amount. We pay for the whole year, to get a discount.

Probably helps that we've been with Esurance since before they were bought out by Allstate.

My daughter's not old enough for that, but my niece has worn skirts and dresses that are too short for years and it used to bother me. But she wasn't MY kid and she has always had a good head on her shoulders, so none of my business.
