I love the storms, I'll take that risk.
Built a house in 2004. First week in, direct strike from lightning. Fried everything, from every single outlet to every appliance in the house, including my well pump. Home owners insurance paid quite a sum to cover all that.
The part of the house it hit was at the electric meter, which was on the wall I was sitting at eating lunch. Holy bajeezus was that loud and startling as shit.
