There really needs to be some Congressional hearings on the federal response to this disaster. I don't know how much of the social media talk to believe, as a lot of it is "I hear from a friend of mine...." stuff, but it sounds disgusting. Volunteers for search-and-rescue missions being turned away or threatened with arrest, aid donations confiscated, etc.

I did see one video of volunteers being threatened with arrest, so to some extent, it's real. I also didn't see any context to know if he was actually a hindrance. But the number of stories coming from various sources and it's everywhere EXCEPT left wing MSM would indicate a lot of it's true.

That Mountain Man guy Eustis from the History Channel, apparently had a whole mule wagon load of supplies seized on his way in. I saw all about it on X, can't find a single mention of it on google.

Whistleblowers

I loathe most govies but I imagine that at a minimum fema has some people who truly believe in the mission and are livid at being sidelined

Gotta watch this. One of the first stories to come out about a volunteer being threatened with arrest was this guy who was ferrying people to safety in his private helicopter. Local media followed up, completely verified his story - and in fact interviewed the people he was rescuing. Then, the fire official who threatened him with arrest (who supposedly couldn't be interviewed by the reporter) opens the door in the middle of the town manager's interview.

Who y’all donated to? I just gave to samaritans purse; my friend in NC said they were doing good stuff.
They're good. Salvation Army came by our house the day after Ivan, so I'm partial to them. Some of the regional groups, mostly through churches or faith based groups, do real people to people help.
