đź“°News 2024 Cone of Uncertainty Thread

Mrs. Pan's youngest was in Asheville until a couple of weeks ago. He got this cool job at a ski resort in CO, so he came down here to get ready to go. Count your blessings, huh?

It’s fkn nutso here, we’re ok, no damage, but this whole area is fkd up. 20-24” of rain. I’m pushing to gtfo of here, water treatment plant was wiped out. This is like 💩 you see on tv somewhere and say wtf, glad I don’t live there.

Glad y'all are ok. Any idea if the Biltmore area was fucked? It's the one thing I was planning on seeing this winter or spring when I'm in the area

It's still baffling....that much rain and we got less than 2".

Asheville is another example of a liberal govt more concerned with bs like reparations & trans nonsense, than basic planning. They’ve known our water treatment system was at risk, no reserve water, fuel, food, no back up communication, and now these fucktards are basically non-existent with being involved in the recovery. Oh, and Biden / Harris, keep your idiot asses tf out of here. I’m not at all pissed.

Desantis sent all our equipment up to NC, leaving our locals to handle stuff the state usually does. Not sure what the fuck he was thinking.

I think we have the resources to handle it. Might take a week or two longer to get some shit cleaned up, but meh. Has anyone even seen a single town of Florida in the news at all? I haven't. You'd think the hurricane just materialized in North Georgia and never came through here.

There's plenty of damage in Florida, but at least the roads are open and workers can get through. Shit in Appalachia is absolutely wrecked. Lots of folks still missing, there's not going to be power or clean water there for weeks.

It's not like when Mexico Beach was wiped clean. Storm surge largely receded and like you said, it's accessible. For all the hoopla surrounding this storm and how dangerous it was, it was pretty mediocre to Florida.

In this case, I'm definitely fine with sending resources north. Hopefully it's just not all to Asheville.

Oh fuck....Republicans are going full retard. I keep seeing tweets saying the hurricane wasn't natural.

Man made hurricane and path guided to intentionally destroy that area so they can snatch up lithium. Instead of focusing on the lack of help by the administration, they're claiming it was destroyed on purpose. Some of them actually think the hurricane was created, guided, and controlled like a remote control toy.

Wonder if those Republicans are real or russian/chicomms/Iranian/nk sowing discord and distrust? Could also be retards who really believe that bullshit.

Looking at their other stuff, they appear to be real, but who knows. A lot of Alex Jones conspiracies having been true just made people go off the deep end and think anything and everything is a conspiracy. They definitely give way too much credit to humans. Can one claim that humans don't have any effect on climate change and then claim humans can create and control hurricanes?
