The 1st episode of the Last of Us was awesome. I know about the video game but never played it, so any deviance from the original story won't bother me at all. I just wish they would release the whole fucking season at once. Weekly episodes are so 2018.

That's why I'm avoiding it for now. Binging shows has spoiled me, so I hate waiting now. I'll suffer the wait for a select few shows...but this one, not sure. Maybe I'll re-subscribe to HBO soon and check out the first episode and see.

It was a good first episode. My wife liked it and she hates "zombie stupidity".

I didn't realize it was zombie stupidity. My only knowledge was from seeing the video game, which looked like it people were the villains. Never saw how they became "the last of us" though, zombie or other apocalyptic scenario.

Anything apocolyptic/dead things, is zombie stupidity to her.

It's a fungus that takes over the human body. Sort of like some resident evil shit but a fungus.

If I remember that correctly. Been a minute since I played that game.

Weird.

Is the game worth playing? Never did try it. The idea seemed neat, but everything I saw was all sneaking around. Which is ok at times, sometimes it's just too slow and monotonous

Don't really remember. I think I played through once and moved on. I'm more of a Call of Duty player.

Never got into COD. My PS4 has sat there mostly unused for 2 years since the last time I played Skyrim. I hopped on last week for an hour to hack off heads and then went back to doing real shit

Last of Us...Ok episode 1. 2 is better. Lady Mormont is funny and makes the show for me. Not great, but watchable. But predictable step by step so far, though the fungus long distance connection is an interested strip.

Hunters season 2 is up on prime, really good although the back and forth on the timeline requires a little more attention than I have right now.

Finally watched the 1st 4 episodes of 1923. It's really good stuff. The one thing that is annoying is this new fucking trend of mid-season breaks. I just don't get it.

Maybe I could see it in a 22 episode season, but 8? Gimme a fucking break.

5 episodes into Vikings Valhalla. Very underwhelming

Yeah, I watched it while I recovered from my surgery. Wasn't a real exciting season. They only character I like is Freydis but probably only because she's an attractive blonde.

Yeah she's hot, but really most of the season was meh. The last episode was great. Her/Olaf, From the waterfall on, their adventure was solid.

The entire England story, no one cared. Except the nice twist of just how long of a con he was playing with the King/Queen. She figured it out, can't prove it, but damn he really was banking on the Queen to act exactly as he expected or none of it would have worked.

Catching up on old movies.

"The Wild Bunch"

Really good. Surprised at the amount of tits and violence in a movie from 1969. "The Walk" at the end has been imitated all over the place. 4 beers out of 5.

"Dog Day Afternoon"

I would have sworn I saw this movie before, when my parents watched it when I was a kid. Guess not, didn't remember any of it.

Really good movie for something that is mainly just people talking and almost the whole thing takes place in one location. Lots of early roles for people that went on to big careers... Lance Henricksen, Carol Kane, Chris Sarandon(he was really good). 4.5 bees out of 5.

rewatched "The Battle of Britian", 1969, a who's who of British actors, Laurence Olivier, Michael Caine, Robert Shaw. and a very very young Ian McShane. Lots of expensive models blown up, no CGI here. It was filmed so long ago there were still a lot of airworthy spits, hurricanes around so that was pretty cool. 4 flaming ME-109s out of 5.

Finished the Walking Dead. Fuck that unresolved Rick/Michone bullshit

I bailed on that shit back when Rick was naked in the container with the trash people.
It had many ups and downs. Ok the ups weren't very high, but some of what came after wasn't too bad.

I do like that the walkers started to evolve and some could use weapons, climb, open doors in the last season.
