Entire episode on whether or now he'll choose to marry a 12 year old or a....15 year old? The wig on that 12 year old, good god.

The highlight was definitely the CGI of the clouds being cut through like water as the dragon was flying through them and the Princess just strolling up there with a stone faced killer attitude. Without really knowing shit about what's going to happen other than a war, you just know she's gonna be burning some MFers

My problem with the show so far... who am I rooting for? None of these characters are really likeable (except the bad guy, Daemon - who might have questionable ethics but he's right about everything). In the original series, it was pretty obvious that the Starks and Dany (until her heel turn at the end) were the "good guys.," the ones with honor who were trying to do the right thing.

It's why I'm rooting for Daemon at this point. The King is a buffoon. Blind to his Hand manipulating the shit out of him. His council doesn't respect him. He names the princess as his heir as a fuck you to daemon, but think keeps her as his cup bearer and won't listen to her words even though she's right.

I'm fine with whoever Daemon or the Princess decides to burn.

Also, I don't get the point of this big hunt. Robert hunted. He was out there with 2 or 3 people. Why do they call this a hunt for the King when he sits on his ass drinking the entire time and then goes and does a piss poor job of killing a bound animal? The entire event as it was shown was just retarded.

I think they're trying really hard to show that during the Targaryens' reign, the king and his family were celebrated and surrounded by opulence - much more so than in Robert Baratheon's time, when the crown was broke and Robert didn't give a shit about actually ruling. So we had the big-ass tournament stadium, the dragonpit, etc. And the royal hunt wasn't done because the King enjoyed it - no, it was another display of wealth and power. They set out into the countryside with a shit-load of nobles and soldiers and shit to show off.

This is one of those parts where they've kind of messed with the timeline for the sake of TV. In the book, Laenor is younger than Laena, and even if he were old enough to ride a dragon into war, the book doesn't mention him as playing a role in the War for the Stepstones.

I think they kind of telegraphed her look of surprise and disgust when the King announced he was going to marry Alicent. I mean, the issue of producing a male heir aside, how would you feel if your dad announced he was going to marry your teenage best friend? Suddenly, you have to call her "mom" or worse, "your Grace" since she's now the Queen. You can't talk about anything sensitive with her, because you know she's going to run along and tell the King, and then anything you might say will be used to manipulate you.

Then she produces a healthy male baby, who most of the kingdom is going to want to be named heir? If you're Rhaenyra, you have to be feeling pretty betrayed.

I don't know how much more interaction those two will have over the course of the show, but...

...when the King dies, Alicent does support her son's claim, but she also tries to make peace between the two warring factions. Neither side is having it, though, and Rhaenyra never reconciles with her.

Apparently, my TV is too small or not high def enough or whatever, but there was apparently a scene in this last episode that showed his fingers missing.
