She made a dumb mistake, but I don't think there was any criminal intent.

Jean-Luc Brunel, the French modeling agent accused of procuring girls for Jeffrey Epstein, was found hanged in his Paris jail cell—in a shocking replay of how Epstein himself died.

The 76-year-old was found during a night-time check by guards at La Santé early Saturday, officials told Le Monde.

His attorneys told the paper that the apparent suicide “was not driven by guilt, but by a deep sense of injustice.”

Epstein and Brunel accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre said it was unfortunate that the Frenchman would not face trial.

“The suicide of Jean-Luc Brunel, who abused me and countless girls and women, ends another chapter. I am disappointed that I was not able to face him in a final trial and hold him accountable for his actions, but gratified that I was able to face him in person in Paris, to keep him in prison,” she said.

Brad Edwards, who has represented Roberts Giuffre, said he believes the Frenchman took his life because he knew his fate was sealed.

“He and Epstein made it only as long as there was hope of getting out,” Edwards told The Daily Beast.

“Virginia’s testimony in France was a major factor in Jean-Luc being jailed. Her recent settlement with Prince Andrew solidified her as a highly credible person. So it cannot be a surprise that he took the same cowardly path as his old pal to avoid true accountability. I feel bad for his many victims but this does not have much impact at all on our investigation, which continues to strengthen.”

Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Pimp Jean-Luc Brunel Nabbed as He Boarded Flight to Africa

Brunel, who founded Karin Models and MC2 Model Management, started being investigated by French prosecutors in August 2019. He was arrested in December 2020 while attempting to board a flight to Dakar in Senegal.

At that time, prosecutor Remy Heitz said in a statement that Brunel “is suspected of having committed acts of rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment on various minor or major victims and of having in particular organized the transport and accommodation of young girls or young women on behalf of Jeffrey Epstein.”

I'd still hit it

I think you'd be disappointed. She seems like she'd be a lot of fun, owing to her extremes on the hotness/crazy scale, but according to the probable cause affidavit, she just spent a couple of weeks living in a dark room at her ex-boyfriend's apartment. They must have had some sexual contact since they found his DNA in her underwear (ew), but it sounds like she spent most of her time cleaning and coming up with new ways to injure herself. Also, her implants were hurting her (seriously, that's in the affidavit). It doesn't sound like a lot of fun.

You are seriously over thinking a clear "hit it and quit it" situation.

A few days old, but the first ONLY officer tried in the Breonna Taylor shooting was found not guilty:

https://abcnews.go.com/US/jury-finds-officer-brett-hankison-guilty-counts-shooting/story?id=83234566

They had charged him with reckless endangerment because he opened fire after Taylor's boyfriend started shooting at the cops and some of his rounds went into neighboring apartments.

Of course if you shoot at the cops they are within their rights to shoot back. The other officers - including the one whose gun killed Taylor - have not been charged for that reason. Not sure why they singled out this guy for prosecution.

one of the dumbest parts of the whole BLM narrative. If you are hanging around with drug dealers, you might get killed. friend of by BFF had a daughter hook up with dealers in HS and she got shot in an altercation at 19. Sad but fucking reality.

its amazing how little care these same people have for kids killed in drug wars in NYC, Chicago or DC - kids who can't pick where they live.

They have a good argument for doing away with no-knock warrants or putting some more checks and balances into the warrant application process, but yeah, if you shoot at the cops the cops are going to shoot back.

didn't Sen Tim Scott's police reform bill have this and other non crazy BLM talking points in it but the dems wouldn't pass because they didn't want to give Rs a victory on the issue leading up to the 2020 election?

5 months jail and 3 years probation for race baiting Jussie Smollett.

Incredible to me that he really thought a jury would buy his bullshit.

In this climate a race card can work wonders, not that surprised given the way everyone fell for his initial absurd bullshit

In case you forgot this one, it's not as clear a case of self-defense as Rittenhouse was, and there were some media shenanigans surrounding it. There was a Denver Post photographer who captured the entire incident - but originally she neglected to publish two key photos showing that the accused actually drawing his gun. After internet autists put enough social media pressure on the Post, they eventually published the missing photographs, resulting in the following sequence:

Slower:

Even slower, with commentary:

These things happen so fast, I can accept a self-defense argument, but it does seem curious that they (yeah, I know, different jurisdictions) threw the whole book at Rittenhouse but decided to drop the charges against this guy, even though self-defense is not as clear. I also note that there's no mention of any "stand your ground" law even though Colorado law doesn't recognize a duty to retreat (as is the case in most states) - that's literally all "stand your ground" is.

No bias in that article, huh?

One demonstration featured conservative “Patriot Rally” attendees. That group was met by left-leaning counter-protesters.

One is conservative and the other just "leans" left, clearly implying one is radical and the other isn't.

That said....the conservative started shit and pulled bear spray and got dead for it. Justified shooting, IMO
