Yes and no.

In a reversal of roles, the liberals are apparently the war hawks now. Cons just want the Keystone pipeline opened up, produce our own energy and ditch this unrealistic greenie bullshit and for us to stop buying from f'n russia.

And we have Biden rambling on and on about how freedom will always defeat tyranny. Some RaRa bullshit speech you use to con people into war when you know you're going to lose. Reality check, sleepy Joe: History proves freedom doesn't always win. Tyranny and cruelty often wins. Life isn't fair or idealistic. The bad guys win all the time. Telling people to not worry, it'll be ok but fairy tales always come true.....it's so fucking idiotic.
 
Germany and others starting to grow some balls now that Russia looks like a paper tiger. Guess it’s good that they are starting to do something, but they are still pussies.

Contractors in Florida, I don't really get. Rednecks should just be extended down through Florida....what do you think contractors and Florida Man are? I'd extend rednecks down towards south florida and then label Miami as "Former communists"
 
The overwhelming majority of social media is pro-Ukraine, so it's not surprising to me to see a lot of videos of broken-down or destroyed Russian equipment, but I think it probably paints an unrealistic picture of what's going on over there.

It also seems to me that Russia is kind of half-assing it. I would have thought Russia's conventional forces are capable of overwhelming a smaller nation pretty easily - just based on the size of its army. But again, it's difficult to get accurate information.
 
Yes. Despite the image of the brave Ukrainians fighting to the end, they are probably better off surrendering and forming a resistance. Probably save a lot of Ukrainian lives.

I mean I'm a natural contrarian and I have questions when everyone agrees on something. But this really is good vs. evil. Putin is a horrible murderous dictator and Ukraine is trying to be a western type democracy. We should want more capitalist, freedom loving societies in the world, and understand why people would fight to the death for it.

Yes. I don't care how dedicated and brave a population is, if they are ultimately outgunned 10 to 1, they will eventually lose. Once kyiv is surrounded they are done. Better to fight ala the French resistance during ww2.

Slowing them would have made a huge difference to the rest of Europe, allowing them to mount defenses and get aid. Surrender was a horrible idea and it remains a terrible idea for anyone who wants to be free and not under communism

The idea that surrendering to Putin is a good idea flies in the face of evidence and history.
 
If you were down in a subway all night with 3 kids while bombs rained down... and your husband was out fighting and probably not coming back, i think you might feel differently.
