Pelosi gave a speech and said in regards to the Colorado shooting that this is why we have to ban assault weapons....only that shooter used a handgun. They can keep saying assault weapons, but the real goal is semi-auto weapons, period. The bill doesn't just say assault weapons. It's high capacity mags they label as 10 and over. Which is most concealed carry weapons today. And when that doesn't stop a damn thing (not that it'll pass), they'll aim for semi auto altogether. And then on to banning gun completely. The left are such liars about the ultimate intentions here.
That's what really shows the ultimate agenda - which is the banning of civilian firearm possession. Every time an event like this happens, there's a slew of proposals floated - none of which would have prevented such a tragedy. But they want to chip away at gun rights bit by bit.
Realistically, if you are in favor of gun control to prevent mass shootings or gang violence, then the only solution is to repeal the Second Amendment. Only then can you pass laws to substantially take guns out of the hands of bad actors (and of course all the law-abiding gun owners as well).
