It’s a total sham election with intercepted calls from a puppet mayor asking if Russia if they really want to go forward. Russia is getting throttled and is using the election as a pretense to call the area’s Russian sovereignty so that they can say that the homeland is being attacked. With rhe “homeland” being attacked they have called up reserves, up to 60 year olds, and again are threatening nukes, which by their laws can only be used when there is threats to the sovereignty.
If the infrastructure needed to utilize it is destroyed it doesn't matter how much oil and gas they have.
