Slow build setup. At first I'm torn between "it's funny and his situations are fucked up" to I really hate the woman/man lawyers that keep trying to fuck him over, but I'm only 3 episodes in.

It’s been awhile since I saw the first season, I didn’t jump on it when season 2 came out, within a day or two of Night Agent. I think I like season 2 of The recruit more than season 2 of Night agent, but like Night Agent better overall. The Girlfriend and zero emotion handler in the Night Agent wore on me in season 2.

Yeah, they got a little annoying. The girlfriend, come on....don't be naive. You know what you're involved in and what's at stake, get off the high horse. But the handler, a little trust wouldn't hurt, I think he earned that in S1.

I'm on Ep 8 of S1 and the Recruit really picked up quickly and there is some good fighting (primarily from the crazy Russian, who is entertaining). I'm enjoying it, though some of it is a bit predictable. There's no mystery in this plot. The villains (which is half the characters) were made obvious from the beginning. Speaking of girlfriends.....his roommate/ex, ugh. A nag, even though she always helps, but at the end here where she just gets up and flies to Geneva? That's where I ended and I just know they made an easy/stupid way to convolute the plot unnecessarily by putting them in harms way.

Oh and new season of Righteous Gemstones out on HBO.
Week at a time  No binging. First episode, good.

Amazon released new season of Wheels of Time. I actually liked season 1. Season 2 was slipping. Season 3 so far is fucking awful for the most part. If I had other stuff to watch, I would.

New season of Survivor is out. Yep, I still watch that. Didn't for like 15 years and over the last 2-3 I've caught up.

I'm on S2 of rewatching the Walking Dead. I almost forgot how much I hated some of those morons. Someone should have whipped Carl's ass for never listening. When Dale got eaten, it was so satisfying. Fuck that kumbaya hippy

Started watching The Electric State last night on Netflix. Russo Bros movie with Chris Pratt and Millie Bobby Brown. Visually it looks awesome but the story is kinda....there.

Turned it off halfway through, more because I had been drinking all day in the sun rather than it being that bad. Probably finish it tonight.

Some of the humor is funny, visually stunning, storyline is meh....Woody Harrelson, voicing Mr. Peanut was good. Alan Tudyek voicing one of the robots was ok. Stanley Tucci was scummy as the bad guy, like normal.

I was just thinking about giving that a shot yesterday. I keep seeing Millie being subject to all sorts of topics on FB lately. I have no idea who she is....why is she suddenly famous or somehow controversial?

Isn't she the chick from Stranger Things?

Good news, remake of 'Starship Troopers' in the works that will focus on the original book, rather than the POS version by Paul Verhoeven. Huge Heinlein fan here, started as a kid and still love it. Went into the Verhoeven flick thinking it was a serious effort, extremely disappointed to say the least.

It looks like it may very well be time for more space, more guns, and more bug blood. No, it's not another "Alien" movie. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Neill Blomkamp ("District 9") has been tapped to write and direct a new version of "Starship Troopers," last adapted in 1997 by sci-fi satirist Paul Verhoeven. Blomkamp will also produce the film alongside his wife and longtime collaborator Terri Tatchell.

I read all his books as a kid in high school - our library system found even the obscure ones.

I think it’s funny verhoevan tried to make the troopers fascist and bugs sympathetic and everyone rooted for them anyway.

Denise Richard’s at her peak
