đź“şTelevision Movie/tv thread

Too much slow ass buildup. I get that was the point......but seasons of him getting shit on by Chuck, doing some marginally sketchy shit, and so on. And Kim was way too hot for him  It was just a slog to me. Not enough Mike, either.

So when my teams are losing or lose I watch Jane Austen adaptations. Purdue lost 4 in a row so I watched the 2005 pride & prejudice, the Sally Hawkins version of persuasion, the bbc sense &sensibiliyy and the start of the Emma miniseries. Also downloaded some books.

Oh I’m at the airport again 🫠

Dark Zero, Netflix.

Whiny old lefty, DeNiro.....

It was a good short series. A slow burn suspense, which can bore me sometimes, but I thought it was enjoyable. Maybe because the prospect of hackers taking down the entire country's grid, comms, etc. in a blink gets me hard.

Enjoyed it. Went in thinking it would be a total libfest. Other than the alex jones type character, it wasn't too political. Almost couldn't tell if deniro and daughter were gop or dem. Like you, it could be the worst movie/show ever and if the grid goes down or some other dystopian stuff, I'll probably like it.

Ditto. I was expecting it to be very left wing after DeNiro's shit show with Biden, but turned out that wasn't the case. Sure, they gave us a black female POTUS, but they've been giving us women POTUS in movies/series for a few years now. My interpretation was that DeNiro was pretty moderate and his daughter was Dem. It's always the Right they blame as power hungry monsters and his daughter's talking points sounded pretty left wing (because they still repeat Patriot Act era talking points and don't acknowledge the roles have reversed). And who the they pinned as the main villian, I think was also Pub. Or maybe I just assume that because it's a Netflix series

The Boyz is a show I can barely watch now without seeing politics in our face non-stop. That entire show is Libtard from start to finish.

Trying to finish Breaking Bad rewatch, lots of time in lane / airport today. After that, 1923 and Rogue Heroes (great show).

I rewatched it once and while I enjoyed the show, it's kind of a slog to rewatch at times. I considered it as my next binge when I'm bored, but I don't think I can make it through a 3rd time.

Not sure if anyone mentioned Paradise on hulu yet. I like it.

First few minutes, I was like, man it'slike the truman show, then forgot I thought that til the end.
The last episode was the best. I loathe when they hide the back story. Give me some linear shit for crying out loud.

Ditto. Shows have relied on all these flash backs and jumping around timelines for years now and I almost always hate it.

I did like the last episode of Reacher, but that was an example of it done properly.

The Recruit is not what I expected. I guess it's a comedy of sorts? It's entertaining enough, was hoping for more action. I never (and still haven't) read about it, even the description on Netflix, to know he was a lawyer

There’s a lot of action in it as it gets going. I’m halfway through the second season. As much or more than in the night agent.
