The Penguin(HBOMax) - Finally finished it really good. Collin Farrell and Cristin Miloti were great. Good story, good action. Also filled with a ton of great acting from secondary characters.
So different than what I expected in a good way. Hasn’t been many shows recently that I watched the newest episode as soon as it was available

Agree. Although I love Keaton's Batman and Jack's Joker, the Penguin was just kinda awful in Batman Returns. I wasn't sure what to expect, because every version of the Penguin I've seen was hokey. Making him a legit mobster was great.

The new Beetlejuice. A little weird. Not bad, not great. The last 30 minutes were good. Tim Burton definitely went Tim Burton. The big problem was having over an hour of slow setup, family drama, and an annoying character. Beetlejuice was also....nicer and more pranky than evil? The church scene was funny though.

I always have and always will hate Superman. I haven't been able to watch even Cavill's versions, nothing modern. I'm not a DC fan in general, but there's something about Superman I loathe and can't watch.

I'm that way with the Penguin. Cannot stand him in the movies/comics and cannot get past that enough to watch the Penguin series.

That's why the show was good. If they didn't shoe-horn in them calling them the penguin once every episode or two, you wouldn't know he's the Penguin. He's just a mobster with a gimpy bum leg.

Even as a little kid, I couldn't get past "Oh, I put on glasses and nobody knows who I am despite being around them as both personas all the time".
You laugh but I usually wore glasses and dressed shitty for field work at my job in Gainesville and for the Christmas party I wore a nice dress and contacts and people didn’t recognize me

I consider it different....like, I've seen coworkers (well, in the past) outside of the office and I didn't recognize them at first simply due to the change of setting. It takes a few moments to realize seeing someone out of their usual context. And you don't really stare at people, you just glance or look at them. Superman on the other hand, if you see him, you're 100% staring. There is no way Lois should have gone so long and not figured it out. The hair alone was always the same (which I'm guessing pony tail for field work and hair down for party?)....that greased back WOP look, come on.

Longlegs - Slow burn movie, creepy in parts, great atmosphere and looked great. Story was kinda weak though. Worth watching once but won't change your life.

2.5 beers out of 5.

Tulsa King or whatever it's called, the Sly mob movie. Actually pretty good.

Skeleton Crew (Star Wars) continues to be another dud from Disney. It's never good when your 4 stars are children. Children can't act and they sure as shit can't carry a show. Not that the story is particularly interesting.

Gladiator 2 was pretty good, not nearly as good as the original, but pdg

Watched Hell on Wheels a 2nd time, maybe my fav all time series.

I found Hell on Wheels harder to watch the 2nd time around once it got to the later seasons. The being trapped and married. The revenge stuff was way more fun
I found myself fast forwarding thru parts of the last couple of seasons, the tear jerking bs they put in there. First 2 were badass.

Now starting GOT again, fk that show is brutal.

I was late to hell on wheels, the first few seasons were great, had a huge drop off, can’t remember how far I made it in but I never came close to finishing the series
