I had some friends who lived in Vilano Beach, depending on tides/Moon it used to flood, but it's still there. One of the mom's at the bus stop made a comment about global warming and Florida going underwater soon. I simply said I'd heard that my entire life and Key West is still here, I'll believe it when I see it.
I wanted to add that I've been going to St. Augustine my entire life. When I was a kid, certain beaches would be under water completely at high tide. The water would be go all the way up the stairs of the boardwalk. Then for 15 years or so, high tide didn't even get close to the top of the beach. Now it's getting much higher again. Tides go in cycles, that's how it works.
Don't like Fried, but the one benefit she provided was the effort to be able to carry and have a weed license (only because she did both)I remember limbaugh lamenting Cali's lack of fire prevention decades ago. On a positive note, Nikki Fried gutted our fire prevention budget when she was in office. Wilton Simpson immediately refunded it and is cleaning up her mess.
