That's why they didn't tell me. There is no way I would have let him leave, wedding be damned.
 
So apparently the doctor was wrong yesterday. He didn't have a heart attack, but had bronchospasms which caused his heart to be starved of oxygen. I'm so fucking happy.
 
According to his doc he aspirated stomach acid into his lungs which caused the whole thing. He's going to have to tackle his GERD to prevent this from happening again.

Assuming the mrs ratted them out.

And not sure why they do that. I don't really like it and think most guys feel the same. It's almost like it's more to impress other chicks.

My younger one came home from the gym today in her workout clothes and it was obvious. When I called her out on it she ratted out her older sister.

I think it's because they think it looks sexy. Some say it adds to sensitivity. I mentioned this in the SFW thread, but personally I hate it. I don't mind looking at it, but sexually they just get it in the way...I think 90% of the point is for people to see it through the clothes.
 
I hate some clients. Side note, the site I'm working on was an old small time grocer when I was a kid. I'd ride my bike there and by nickel candy. Anyway, this old little building is now a private K-12 Christian school, though most of the kids are primarily elementary students with a total of 30 kids max. I'm doing a concept plan for them and what they want. New parking, a full size basketball court (the site will be fenced, so they're building a full basketball court for a handful of young kids). This also means a driveway that loops around their site, an update to their stormwater = a large pond, and they lose part of their working site since a large chunk of the property they currently use is actually CSX (railroad) property. All shit comes up to code once you fuck with old property.

So here's what is going to happen: I'm going to do it, get their buy off, and we'll proceed with the plans, permitting, etc. And they'll see the reality of what they're being warned about but won't accept, which is they can't fucking afford this. Either the entire thing gets scrapped or they reduce it down to almost nothing and all their dreams get smashed by the reality that people won't do shit for free just because you're a church or in this case, a Christian school. And they'll have wasted a decent amount of money in the process.

He's doing pretty good now. He has a renewed outlook on life for sure. He has to get his GERD under control though. What happened last week could definitely happen again (and it did do a little damage to his heart).
 
Close relative (cousin on my Mom's side) just got diagnosed with a glioblastoma. God damn. He's 63 and has a wife and two sons.

He was mis diagnosed. It's actually an abcess. He has surgery to remove it tomorrow. It's still very serious but glioblastomas are like 95% fatal past five years.

Some dumb redneck fuck damn near shot my Grandma last night. The idiot just bought a new 9mm and decided to shoot towards her house. She lives like 30 yards behind him with a small patch of woods in between. One round went through her bedroom window (where she had been standing 30 seconds earlier) and the other into her computer room. The cops came and she decided they should let him off with a warning. Dude was in tears and had no priors.

Family owned italian place I go to weekly has a minimum 22% prompt when they hand you the card reader. So its options of 22%,25% and 28%, and manual. I waited tables as a second job while in the military and through college. Standard 20% from me, bigger if it's a small check or really great service, but suggesting that much is really off putting.

No such experience, but I was simply raised to always tip well unless not deserved. A 25% tip on a pizza is more than enough, especially since in most cases, they're not usually driving very far. Any pizza place I order from is between 2 and 4-5 minutes from me. The entitlement of that prick would have me following him out the door to rip him a new one.

I'm the same though. 20% is standard unless it's a smaller check or great service, then I'll over tip. I've been to a couple places, can't recall where now, that starts their tip options at 20, 25, and 30. Fuck them all to hell, especially when you're getting take out or something that really required no actual service. Even if it's what I would tip anyway is irrelevant, it's the presumption that they can force us, regardless of the quality of service. Also, fuck the tip jar that EVERYONE puts out now regardless of where they work.
 
Normally I round up the bill and then do 20% of that. Easier math and an extra 3-6 bucks isn't gonna make or break me.

Bar tabs I tip higher, sometimes like 50%. My 2 regular bars and we are friendly with the barmaids and waitresses so we always get good,fast service.
