The process for federal jury duty is fucking retarded. I may be called on any of the Tuesday's in July. So they send a letter 6 weeks in advance telling us we have to call a number to see if we report after 4:30pm the friday prior to each Tuesday.
How many people lose/"lose" that number and/or forget/"forget" to call?
How about just tell people the fucking day instead of maybe/maybe not for 4 weeks?

I may or may not have allegedly "lost" a federal jury duty summons. The dates fell on when I was going on vacation. I could have asked to be excuse to rescheduled, but if that was denied then I was a screwed because now they knew I knew about it.

You mentioned that when I got the summons a few months ago, but wasn't selected for that month. I doubt my luck holds out this time. But I will do the same thing as you, allegedly, if I end up planning a vacation for July.
Just finding out there is a breakout session scheduled tied to a committee I chair, and I've already gotten approval from the important players on topics for webinars the rest of the year. Like what the actual fuck, i am going to have to go back to these players and look like a fucking dumbass because no one bothered to tell me.

My little sister got married yesterday. My Step Dad had a heart attack the morning of. We had to force him to go to the ER, and then he checked himself out against medical advice to make the wedding (they hid this from us but word got out about midway through the event). It scared the ever living fuck out of me. He has raised me since I was 5 so I love him like he's my bio Dad. He went back to the hospital last night and was admitted so they can run some tests. We are just kind of waiting for answers.
