That escalated quickly. Maybe it's just my personality, but death is such a relief after those situations. Watching the suffering is awful.
Everything accelerated quickly when he got COVID. It just leveled him and weakened him so much that the fight was done. Also yes, I will be relieved when it's finally over. Hospice is supposed to increase his morphine today which I hope slows down his breathing enough to where he can pass peacefully.

It's a depressing place, but Hopsice is awesome. I've spent way too much time in there and the staff was always kick ass.
Unfortunately he chose not to go to a hospice facility. He is getting end of life care (by a hospice company) at a rehab place where my Grandmother is. She can wheel down the hall and visit at will. His care is suffering due to this but he made the choice.

I suppose his wife being able to be there anytime is more valuable than better health care to him. Can't say I blame him...and once you get to that point, morphine is morphine wherever you are.

I envy certain old people. I was at an event where a couple old timers (85 and late 90s) gave speeches and they started to choke up and cry when they tried to thank their wives of 50+ years. Not sure I've ever liked anyone that much.

Bitch from last night....I got a box of normally very reliable cigars that are pure dog shit. They're all canoe-ing on me.

That's from shitty storage. Some time in the humidor should fix that.

Yeah I know, but it's very rarely been a problem. Unfortunately it seems Cigar International is getting progressively worse. If I was low, I use to be able to smoke them right from delivery without giving them at least a month in the humidor. That's no longer the case and it's annoying as shit. I need at least 40 ready to smoke sticks right now to let everything I've bought sit.

Their sales may be slowing down like everything else, would make their inventory turn slower and haven't had time to adjust to the change in demand yet

The opposite. I buy from their sister company, a bidding site. It's harder than ever to win a bid, prices are driving higher. CI's site is often sold out of popular stuff. Cigar stock/prices have skyrocketed since COVID. Just like alcohol increased, I think a ton of people picked up cigars as a hobby. So the problem is actually not enough time in storage, the turn over is too quick so they're spending too much time in shipping and aren't being aged.

This issue has been going on for a few years now, partly driven by the SM dweebs. Fuente has really started catering to this market, can’t blame them I guess, it’s a booming segment. Cuban cigars has skyrocketed in cost as well. Haven’t been smoking much over the last year, they’re getting better by sitting & aging in my coolidor.

SM dweebs? :beatsme:

Social media, maybe?

There are enough social media dweebs to alter the cigar market?
Actually yes, with regards to Fuente product. There’s a shit ton on FB, and others, to the point Fuente started marketing to those turds, Carlito Fuente has tons of fanboys, they actually call him the Toy Maker.
