Old people make everything worse.

My new glasses are ready. I come upā€¦.3 people ahead of me. Employee is old and just ok English. The other customers are 70+.

30 minutes waiting so far for just the first old man who was already well into his process when I got here. They move slow, talk slow, process information slow. Ask too many questions they should know the god damn answers too.

Not sure I really care. Depends on the quality of life I suppose. I've known some pretty active and lively 80+ year olds.
 
Getting really frustrated and tired of my eyes burning out of my skull. Got new glasses Friday...it always takes some time to adjust to a new script, even though mine aren't drastically different and my eyesight isn't terrible (reading being the worst, naturally).

But fuck....I wear progressives. I've needed that middlish ground between near and far sighted, pretty critical for work since I use a large tv as a monitor and it's about 30" away. But now my vision changed a little to where the middlish ground isn't as clear for....almost anything. Not walking around the house, not work. Having hell trying to get a setup with display settings at a comfortable level. There's only so much I can do

fuck getting old.
 
I just stepped on a fucking roofing nail in flipflops. Right in the big toe. Every so often I still find one from the new roof job a few years ago. Even though I picked up a few hundred and spent hours sweeping the area around the house with those big strip magnets on a pole.
 
Yeah, I got cut good pulling some dirt covered (the real reason for tetanus) rusty fence out of the ground a 3 or 4 years ago. Got the shot then since I hadn't had one since a kid.

Luckily I have some thick fancy flipfops that minimized how far it went in. I wear shoes doing work outside for this reason, because I still step on nails. But this was in a location the nail shouldn't have been flung so far. Gonna have to put some more pavers down to step on when I send the kid out to get eggs in her flipflops

The only reason I was in that area was because I went outside this morning only to find a chicken as we walked to the bus stop. First time one from this new batch has gotten out. Apparently when I went out at dark last night, I thought all of them were in the coop....First time one retard didn't go in by dark. I was 1 short. No idea how it got out though.

I've never been a big flipflop person, but damn if my old margaritaville and standard flipflops weren't killing my feet and back last summer. Did some googling and damn, I may have balked a little at $70 for flipflops at first, but it's crazy how comfortable these things are. Now I don't mind wearing them for longer periods of time.

That thread turned into a shitshow quickly, as expected. One American mentions a firearm and out come the Euros believing America has mass school shootings every week and how no one in Europe harms their neighbor. Uhhhh...the rape rate alone in a few Euro countries would say otherwise.

There's also some major denial and ignorance going on about those 2 outages - It's because they rely too heavily on renewable energy. They learned nothing from Germany. Yet the MSM is conveniently leaving out why these outages happened.
 
And the bullshit that happens during outages - mainly CA - are places where firearms are illegal or greatly restricted and handled by criminals. Normie gun owners are protecting themselves against looters.
 
Just got informed that the project I've been working on for the last decade was pulled from us. Now I'll get shuffled elsewhere likely with less pay, more strict hours, and a less cool boss. Yay.
 
They are basically just going to have Inidians do the work for cheaper (even though they absolutely suck at this type of work).
 
Shocker. Over my career I've noticed a serious dip in quality of final product in the industry. I'll get plans from permitting, subs, clients, etc. for local, adjacent sites or other sites the client has done, etc......Helps get an idea of the client needs, maybe what worked or didn't, local requirements for nearby sites......and holy shit. I don't even know how anything was constructed off of these shitty plans. Some of them take a while just to decipher their shitty work.
