🤬Bitch Bitch thread

State Farm also got busted for donating a bunch of trans/gay brainwashing books to Florida elementary schools. Once it went public, the backlash made them drop the donations and STFU. I switched shortly after.... I was going to anyway since their rates kept going up

When I was 18 riding my bike an old woman in a car hit me and I was in the ER with head wounds and broken bones and the State Farm agent got in tried to get me to sign something to say I was at fault lol.

Damn I can't catch a break. On the plus side, Removal of old and a new, expanded area of privacy fence came in at 10k. Lower than expected.

Bad news is, as I was walking around with the guy, I got a look of a tree right at the edge of my property that's less than 10 feet from 39th....It's dead. Dead, dead, hollow, pieces falling off and the storm we had 2 days ago left a limb hanging on the power line. GRU is going to come out and look at it, but the reality is it's an FDOT road and an FDOT power line, so it's very possible GRU won't touch it. I don't need another damn expense, but I'd have it taken down myself (as is my responsibility), but the condition of the tree doesn't jive with how long it would take to get a tree crew out here. At this point I'm making these calls just as a CYA for liability reasons.....Just in case it falls across 39th before I can get it taken down.

Any chance it’s in easement for 39th?
Naw, it's on my property. And just barely. The fence was clearly put up when the tree was younger, but now it's a good 20" oak and the side of the tree is a finger width from touching the fence. That's how damn close it is....but even if it's by a foot, it's mine.

GRU and Public Works were out within 30 minutes of posting that. Both said the same thing. They had the hanging limb on the power line gone in an hour, but the tree was a tough shit. Of course I told both the guys, I expected to have to take care of it and I already made calls to tree crews. I just know if I don't report it or show action that I tried to do something about it and the tree does go down before I can have it removed....and it did happen to hit traffic or hurt someone, insurance wouldn't touch it.

Funny side note - when the tree guy from public works was out here, he said "At least the tree is just under the need for a permit and replacement law". Inside I'm dying....who the fuck actually gets permits for tree work or goes out and buys a 6' high oak to replace the one they took down? I've never met one person. Not to mention, the law doesn't apply to completely dead trees that are a hazard. The old man would probably get pissy if I told him while the tree crew is out here, I might have them take down the live oak that's 20 feet down from the dead one that's also against the fence. The city is extremely strict on live oaks. But it's a shit live oak...scraggly. Limbs never grew towards the house because of no sun and tree competition. The other side gets pruned by GRU because of the power line and 39th....It's a live oak that identifies as a scrub oak

I’ve got two cypress trees I want gone so bad, I think I could probably get one down because it sounds like it has hollowed a little, the others healthy as shit. Hate those fucking trees

Hah.

God damn lucky. I was going to have to get a 20 yard dumpster for $650 to get rid of all my demo shit. Also cleaned out the garage and other crap I didn’t want. Found a guy on Craigslist with a 10 yard trailer and will get rid of all of it for $350 and he’s taking the first load today. Maybe he can do one load if he stacks it carefully and doesn’t throw in wood like he’s playing pickup sticks. Hell of a deal, especially since that material is blocking the gate to my backyard the tree guys will need

Hopefully he doesn’t murder you and grind you into meat
Nope, all went uneventful. He came out yesterday afternoon. I expected a roughneck country type, a little white trash, 35-50 is usually the type for this kind of thing. I was surprised when a normal, non-country looking kid in his mid, maybe late 20s got out. He definitely operated on speed and not being more careful on loading the trailer. Especially on the 2nd trip when he came back with his wife, who just throw shit in. Saw a piece of plywood sitting at an angle....like damn girl, lay that shit flat, you just wasted an entire corner.

I added some more stuff after I sent him pics, don't think he'd have noticed, but gave him an extra $50 for it. 2 full 10 yard trailers later, had it all gone in 3 hours. Good to see some younger folk busting it with some hard work.
