🔫Guns all new guns thread

It is exactly what the round was designed for... and it is stupid quiet. Going to setup a gopro, at 100 yards, next time I'm out.

Shot my 300 win mag, to check zero with the suppressor. Like my 308, it was roughly 3" low.

I think it shoots a better group suppressed.

Everyone is making fun of “pheasant hunting” footage of Tim walz. All the men in my family regularly pheasant hunted and I can’t imagine any looking so dumb

Yeah I'd like more .308, but fuuuuuck. Figured when SHTF, I'd go through more 5.56 than .308

The 308 I use is like $40-ish per 20. The 300 Win Mag is more like $70 per 20. :suicide:

That 300 Win Mag is kind of worth it. Really small groups at 100 yards. Drops 225-250 lb bucks dead in their tracks. I hate tracking.

Figure how long one buck can feed you, one shot one kill, you don't really need thousands of rounds. I only have 500 or so rounds of 308. Maybe less of 270 (though my dad has everything to reload an asston of 270 if I needed it)

Zombie hoard, fighting a war.....those are lower caliber, ie cheaper, rounds. In addition to what 68 said, those calibers are also for deer or larger game. Or needing to take someone out at 500+ yards.

And coincidentally, this morning I get an email for a sale. 50 cent 5.56 rounds....the winchester that really comes from LC. I love it when it also comes as boxes in an ammo can so I can just store it. I'm sick of buying ammo cans to organize and stash everything. All my shit has to be ready to transport if necessary.

You really need to pickup an el cheapo 300 blackout bolt action. That fucker, suppressed, is whisper quiet. You could dispatch the trapped animals and your neighbors would not hear it.

You can hear the firing pin strike, from behind the rifle.

I've been trying to avoid something like that simply over money. Buy another gun, even a cheap one, just means spending more on yet another caliber ammo. I really don't mind stabbing or drowning the bastards, might even enjoy it

For a while I've actually stopped on the ammo. Been picking up or saving for certain knives I really want to complete the collection of everything I'd need to easily do any task. No jack of all trades bullshit. I have my dedicated skinner and EDC fixed. I still have 2 more to get or at least 1 of them is a requirement, a scandi for woodwork. Whether it's one or both, they're in the $350-$400 range.

I need advice from the gun people in here. If guns and ammo are kept in a dry, room temp environment, do they ever go "bad"? I know it is prob a stupid question but am not a gun nut, but before BHO was elected, I went on a spree like no other. Have, no telling how many still in boxes/cases, all kinds. And have literally a full fire safe full of mainly 223, 9para, 12 and 20 ga and bricks upon bricks of 22, like gazillion rounds. Just curious if the stuff is still good.
