whatcha reading?

I finished the trilogy and it does have a resolution but it also leaves the door open for additional books - some characters' arcs aren't really complete. I think Abercrombie has also published a number of other books and stories set in the same world but I haven't bothered to really check them out yet.
As far as I know, there are 2 trilogies, 3 stand-alones, and one collection of short stories in the First law universe. I went through all of them. Not sure if I am interested in the the Shattered Sea series or even starting The Devils.

just finished Streets of Laredo...may read Stoner or Butcher's Crossing by John Williams next

Also have had luck finding out of print books for the lowest price/shipping from eBay. I’m reading older historical fiction that doesn’t have woke shit like Anne Golon

Started reading "Out of the Dark" trilogy by David Weber. It's an excellent series, same author as the Honor Harrington series. The board gunners will like the survivalist arc and the attention to detail concerning all things weapons and guns.

The Shongairi conquered Earth. In mere minutes, half the human race died, and our cities lay in shattered ruins.

But the Shongairi didn’t expect the survivors’ tenacity. And, crucially, they didn’t know that Earth harbored two species of intelligent, tool-using bipeds. One of them was us. The other, long-lived and lethal, was hiding in the mountains of eastern Europe, the subject of fantasy and legend. When they emerged and made alliance with humankind, the invading aliens didn’t stand a chance.

Now Earth is once again ours. Aided by the advanced tech the aliens left behind, we’re rebuilding as fast as we can.

Meanwhile, a select few of our blood-drinking immortals are on their way to the Shongairi homeworld, having commandeered one of the alien starships...the planet-busting kind.

Sounds like a fun series.
