šŸ“ŗTelevision Movie/tv thread

I quit watching during season 2.

It's silly and the plots are ridiculous, but it's a comic book show. I enjoyed it through season 4. Now I just have to finish the series, just because. The flashbacks in S5 are better than the current events.

There are some exceptions, but I think of John Adams as kind of the last non woke great show. Some great stuff after sure but it was really the last thing without any of it. That the us is essentially good and worth fighting for. Like it’s the stuff Charlie Kirk said but in a mainstream tv show. Everything else has had to shove in some weird woke goobledygook

I sound like my mother in law watching Perry Mason reruns ā˜ ļø

Does that count as a 1 season HBO show? It was great, I should rewatch it sometime. Giamatti is awesome.

There have been some really good tv shows that weren't woke, but largely because it left most of politics out altogether or set in another time period (like Vikings). You have shows like Longmire and some others in a cowboy deal. Recently, Landman and Shogun were great.

"The Black Phone" - Not what I expected but interesting movie.

3 beers out of 5.

The Witcher with Liam. When he raises his voice, he sounds identical to Thor yelling. He did the best with what he could, but he wasn't given much. He was practically a side character. Yeah, Netflix forced in more girl boss, lesbians, and diversity. Yennifer suddenly becomes a world class fighter, not just a mage.

All that said, setting aside all the reasons people will hate this season and just watching the damn thing....it's not that bad. I was still relatively entertained.

Stranger Things Season 5 - 1st 4 episodes.

Not bad. Lots of shit going on. Some good action at the end.

Brought back a shitty character from Season 2. Hope they aren't as shitty this time around.

Yeah books or shows I lose interest. I want grown up things thanks.

If it’s like a few minutes of their parents getting killed or whatever like the last kingdom that’s one thing.

I agree mostly but plenty of the story revolves around the adults in Stranger Things.

That’s my level of patience juggs
About the same really. Movies are an exception since they don't usually involve a slow burn or suspense stuff like shows do. Whether it's the Goonies or Harry Potter, it can work. Tv series though....

I didn't find it interesting enough to notice  I couldn't even get into it when my kid was watching and it was already on the tv. I just zoned out on my phone.....That was like S2 or 3
