Yeah that's insane. I've read a number of similar stories in the UK about being arrested for just hurting someone's feelings.

Doc, what's with the fucked up jury selection process. Why do we have to sit there for as long as it takes them to select the jurors? It's retarded we can't just go home and be contacted when they select. It's not like the trials every start the same or next day FFS.

just act super eager to be selected and they won't pick you.
also if you get a choice for dates chose holiday weeks when they are closed or have few cases (a lawyer tipped me off on this and its always worked)

Yeah... just tell them you will be the best juror ever because you can just look at someone and know if they're guilty.

You get voir dire'd if chosen. Where the lawyers ask you questions to determine if you are acceptable to be on the jury.

I got picked once on a murder trial but the dude pleaded guilty on our lunch break.
