⚖️Law & Order Crimes and trials

When my dad retired, he requested his file and my mother's file. When my mom and brother were going through his stuff after he died, they found the files. My mother was from East Germany, so there's all kinds of stuff about how they checked out her background, lots of redactions - I suspect they used assets behind the Iron Curtain to check her out so they couldn't release that information. Hoover personally refused to send the usual "congratulations on your marriage" letter to my parents.

There's memos about not letting my mom take my brother and I back to the Fatherland for visits with her family due to the risk of us getting kidnapped by the Commies and used as leverage. All very fascinating.

Excuse me, she is an American. She WAS a Commie. And before that, a Nazi (although she was only a child, so I guess we can't hold that against her).

Related story: the FBI would not let them get married until she became an American citizen. There was some SNAFU with the paperwork and they couldn't get in one of those mass ceremonies before the wedding. So my dad had to call in a favor from a federal judge he knew and have her privately sworn in a week before the wedding.
 
Defense attorney doing a good job crossing Grosskreutz, pointing out all his contradictions. He lied and then admitted being part of the People's Movement, lied about where his gun was and what he told the police immediately after the incident (but before he lawyered up). Admitted he has a law suit against Rittenhouse and the City, therefore a financial interest to lie, etc.

Oh, and he admitted on cross-examination that he pointed his gun at Rittenhouse first.

And they're doing an incredible job when liberals, particularly Biden, keep trying to say video feeds are lying.

On the contrary, the media wants the narrative to remain. Never mind that none of this is true, but the narrative is that a white supremacist used the most evil of all firearms, the AR15, to indiscriminately mow down a group of peaceful protestors who were only in Kenosha to stand against police brutality in the wake of the totally unjustified shooting of a black man.

If they report truthfully on the trial, then they undermine the narrative.

Fair point, but the outcome isn't swaying anyone. No one is going to see this farce of a trial and go from being pro-2A to wanting AR15's banned.

At this point, it's the epitome of preaching to the choir.

I haven't watched it, but it was from a lower-altitude drone, somewhat higher definition. They started asking the lead detective about it and he said he watched it on his phone; the biggest takeaway from his testimony is that he thought Rosenbaum was no closer than 3 feet from Rittenhouse when Rittenhouse shot him. Like all the other witnesses, though, he gave other testimony that was entirely consistent with self-defense.
 
Yeah, you know, there's been a lot of splashback about the Rittenhouse case. People who donated to his defense got doxxed and in some cases fired (and his former attorney, who he never should have hired in the first place, still owes him money); social media platforms banned people who supported Rittenhouse for "glorifying" or "inciting" violence.

The Rittenhouse case illustrates just how crazy some people have become.
