⚡ACHTUNG!⚡ Catch all/random thread

Something sketchy going on in the city of Alachua. 3 of the 4 City Planners quit at the same time. The head of dept was there for 20 years, the others had long tenure as well. They left just 1 planner with 1 year of experience, a kid. You can't get any project permitted without a project review from the planning department.

This is gonna set some of my projects back a long time. But what happens internally for 3 basically career employees to quit at the same time? Nothing good....

Y'all know anything about cashapp? Selling a boat and the buyer wants to use cashapp. Good idea? Bad idea?

I've used Venmo with no issues, but I think the most I've sent or received is probably $250. A big transaction like a boat, which I assume is thousands of dollars, seems a little sketchy to me. Like, take an extra step and get a cashier's check or something. Or maybe I'm just too old for this stuff.

I've never used Venmo or Cashapp, but I would be scared there is some dispute feature in there and your money gets sucked back out after they fraudulently dispute it or something.

I have a cashapp account and use it for buying/selling small stuff.

After I posted, I looked at other forums and reddit. Appears that it is much harder to get your money back on cashapp, than it is paypal. I got enough info on him that I'm not too worried. Took a pic of his truck/license plate and he is on two of my cameras.

Seemed like a nice dude. Ex .mil helo pilot from the GWOT.

My mom didn’t wear daisy dukes
Nope. I really can't recall many of my friends moms wearing shorts all that often except very hot days and iirc, they were all basically mid thigh.

The "short shorts" category is what all the kids wear now. $200 in shorts in various colors/frayed versions of those things yesterday. At this point I don't fight it as long as her ass doesn't hang out.

I’ve got arthritis in my neck, when it flares up, it’s a mfr. was reading about red light therapy, which has been proven to help inflammation, wound healing, etc, so I got a cold laser device, little handheld thing off Amazon. Damn if it isn’t helping, though it takes a few days to feel the effects. Also, im no longer taking ibuprofen, was taking 600mg at least 3x a day, for years, for neck, shoulder, knee, & inflammation. That’s not due to the red light, prednisone did something, though have been off it for 4 days, it’s like my body was dependent on ibuprofen for inflammation?

Well that's one of the things ibuprofen is for, so yeah.

The wording there is kinda confusing.....if you're taking prednisone now and doing the red light therapy, how do you know if the red light does anything?
I quit prednisone 4 days ago. In the past, if I didn’t take ibuprofen, I hurt like fk, maybe there’s a long residual effect of the prednisone, but not supposed to be nearly that long. Also use it on elbow, tendinitis, definitely has helped there. Maybe it’s all in my head, but dgaf, it hurts less. I’m still trying to wrap my brain around ibuprofen dependency, if there is such a thing?

Ibuprofen is ok short term, but it is the worst thing you can do for you kidneys, and is also a big source of heartburn.
On target, my cardio guy told me to stay the hell away from ibuprofen, lots of side effects, and switch to Tylenol but avoid taking that on a regular basis.

Well WTF is the point of prednisone if it helps arthritis, but causes pain to the point of having to take ibuprofen? I'm not fully there yet, but I have some issues with off and on arthritis in my hands and any regular use of my elbow (lifting, digging, chopping wood), tendinitis flares up quickly. Some kind of arthritis mediciation has been suggested, but I've said no for now and just deal with the pain. Shit starts hurting, I take a few ibuprofen and smoke a cigar or two before lazing in front of the tv.

They say that, but I think you really have to take massive amounts....unless I'm an outlier. I've been thoroughly examined and tested repeatedly through my alcoholism/sobriety process. Everything is in great shape (surprisingly), and I lived on a handful of ibuprofen every day for years before I learned to manage my neck injury from the car accident.

Obviously I avoided Tylenol because of my drinking, didn't need to double up on the liver.

The way I look at it, if I get to enjoy life a little more with less suffering and risk dying a few years earlier because of it, I don't care. Not that I take them frequently now...but if I have to, no fucks to give.

Prednisone enabled me to get off of ibuprofen. I found an article where prednisone is used to break physical dependency on ibuprofen, which happens. All I know is I’m not on prednisone or ibuprofen, I don’t hurt like I did.

I was on it once and didn't sleep for 2 days. Didn't feel wired or anything, just couldn't sleep. And one of the nights was after an Irish wedding where I was drunk as fuck.

It f’d me up, I was wired, hungry af, couldn’t sleep, agitated, it sucked. If PT doesn’t work on my neck, next step would be to get the irritated nerves ablated, after that is fusion, which I’m not interested in.

Is it really dependency on ibuprofen or is it really liking the feeling of not hurting 24/7? Obviously there's a difference and you and I are pretty qualified to tell what gives actual relief and what our body is addicted to

My dad recently got on some pill for arthritis....and he's never taken anything more than a BC powder. He won't take anything, ever, stubborn fucker. But his small town, not sold out to big pharma, old ass Doctor up there in TN told him it was the same med he takes himself. It's not pred though, I'd have remembered that one. But he has no side effects from it....but it's also not 100%, it just makes the arthritis less severe.

It would be nice, I had a new Dr. appt scheduled and that bullshit 10 pages of new patient paper work. By page 2, my hand was killing me just from holding that god damn pen.
