no its congestion pricing. It was unexpectedly raining heavily and 5 pm, so traffic was worse and slower and more people needed ubers even locally who otherwise might walk. But still ridiculous. I could see it being 30 or 35 but 70 is ridic.

yeah in the olden days I'd walk across DC to the metro, which was reasonably reliable and safe and much faster than driving at rush hour, but now just the walk from this building next to the Capitol to the direct metro home is more homeless campy than ever and the metro never comes. DC has returned to a very fucked up scary state.

Extra douche: 1 of them had his phone in the cart and he was talking to get from 15 feet away, so you could hear them both nearly yelling. Also, he said, “I’m punt on 3rd down annoyed” because they didn’t have the bread he wanted.
 
That shit is annoying. Almost annoying as the asshole in the grocery store. With his phone on his gay ass belt clip, loudly playing shitty music for the whole store to hear.
 
I don't get the melanated women walking around with their phones on speaker, holding it up to their face like a slice of pizza.

I hold my phone up to my head like a normal fucking man. These yuppies around here talking into their bluetooth in public, I just find it douchey. And the women who do it, usually because they also are listening to music with their earbuds in public to make sure they're extra oblivious to anyone and everything around them.

here they also offer some protection from homeless nutjobs. they really ignore you more if you have headphones. I don't even have them plugged in

yeah its dumb because 95% of my interactions are with people who don't work in my office, and out of the 5% those are mostly with lobbyists who are up on the hill all the time.

the email doesn't specifically say hours so I may be casual about that lol
 
JFC. The project coordinator dropped off supplies today. The one catch is she's a tiny lady and didn't bring help to unload. I offer to help, it's no big deal. I'm helping her carry in a sheet of drywall and out of fucking nowhere a muscle in my back starts screaming in pain. I can't even stand up right now without being in a lot of pain. Fucking hell.
