My mom was an election judge and before I was born my dad was in elected office. We had numerous family friends in politics, my siblings and I would go campaign door to door for them. I was in one’s campaign ad.

I don’t remember ever feeling afraid or anxious about results. I just remember people being excited but no one was fucking scared. What an absolutely horrible and unnecessary thing to do to a kid
