In the mix of all the paperwork that came from the school was a page about AI learning. It was sketchy as hell. School is making their classes, at least for 8th grade, AI based. It claims they'll test their critical thinking skills, have to cite their AI source like ChatGBT (they specifically mention ChatGBT). An entire page of this and then fine print on the back to sign if you want to opt out with your child.
Is that not sketchy as hell? It says to me that they're openly brainwashing kids and calling it curriculum. AI is not true AI, it's programmed responses by left wing bias fuckwits. Citing ChatGBT as a source for a paper? This isn't teaching critical thinking skills, this is REMOVING them. It's removing facts in favor of opinion while also letting the teacher do the least amount of work possible.
Obviously we opted out of it. Now that doesn't mean she won't be exposed to it, they're doing it whether we like it or not. It just means my kid doesn't have to use AI to do her work. It means she'll actually have to work and learn (hopefully)
