Politics The war on Joe Rogan

I’ve only listened to one of his podcasts (I prefer a shorter format), but I feel like this is pretty important for free speech. He’s being cast as “far right” and “racist” by the Twitter mob, but seems to be more like most Americans - generally moderate with some left and some right views.

He has very few conservative views. He's a huge Bernie fan - Believes in a really high minimum wage and free education. Ideally student loan forgiveness, though he recognizes there's a problem with that. Believes in free health care. He's very socially liberal.
He even believes you should have to pass a course/test the way you do a drivers license to own a gun.

Literally the only way he is like the right is that he's anti-woke and anti-censorship, that open discourse from all sides is the answer to a reasonable solution.

He's anti-mask when it comes to the basic cloth and other shit that 99% of Americans are wearing because they don't work. He's practical about vaccine and that natural antibodies are as effective or moreso than the vax. And the reality that the biggest way to protect yourself is to eat healthy, exercise, get outside in the sun because people are slothy fat fucks. That's where the far right bullshit comes from.

There is zero basis for any racist claims.

They hate him because he's popular and "platforms" people they don't like and talks to them for 3-4 hours at a time. So millions of people get to hear from a spectrum of people ranging from Alex Jones to Bernie Sanders in a format that doesn't easily distill down to a soundbite or Tweet.

He's not interested in playing any "gotcha" games with them or debating them, but I'm sure that for every vaccine skeptic he has on, he'd be more than happy to have a high-profile vaccine advocate on as well. If Anthony Fauci wanted to be on the show, I'm sure Rogan would welcome him and give him the same treatment he gives to all his guests - a courteous ear and mild questions.

The irony over this is that anti-science and even earlier anti-vax positions were tolerated or even celebrated by corporate media and celebrities. Like Jenny McCarthy (who was on the view and every where with her vax cause autism dangerous lies), Neil young has an autistic child, which I’m sure is very painful but he has tied a lot of modern technology to that condition, without evidence. Look at the adoration of GOOP’s snake oil sales, all the essential oil woo and all of the celeb driven health fads embraced and promoted throughout these outlets who now are saying Rogan is public enemy number one.

You know, I kind of wish Spotify would kick him off their platform. He'd have a great breach of contract suit and he'd go back to being independent. I hate Spotify's app, so I don't really listen to him anymore but I would if I could just use my regular podcast app for him again. Same with Last Podcast on the Left.

Other side tid bit after CNN was hammering Rogan for his Covid recover. Joe posted a side by side picture of the one he posted when he had COVID vs. the one CNN put up ("same" picture)...CNN used filters to make him look yellow and unhealthy.

hahaha oh yeah. the same network that ignored the massive conflicts of interest of having an anchor being the brother of the governor of one of the largest states in the US, ignored him breaking quarantine, not to mention sexual harassment.

also I wonder how many people on the right and/or libertarians opinions he might have shifted more to the left than they'd been before, or at least make them give some consideration to other views.

that's the real danger of censoring him in particular. I think more moderate podcasts like his and breaking points (I shared a tweet from one of its hosts above) are popular because some people crave open-mindedness

I think the idiotic tribalism on the left is ultimately self-defeating. The fact that so much of the defense of Rogan has come from the right (or at least lefties kicked out of the club for not being "all in" and now blanketly considered racist righties) has led the cancelation driven left (which sadly so most of them now) and likely Rogan's appearance to misconstrue him as far right. Its so intellectually lazy, from a group that feels so superior and sneering.

ultimately, though, people are going to be sick of being lied to so much. I certainly hope so, but sadly this cancel left is the majority of government, education and other institutions.

Rogan has said this damn near verbatim many times.

The sexist, racist, transphobic thing makes no sense. You can't find a single quote from him that indicates he's any of those things. The worst he's ever said about trans is regarding biological men competing against biological women in sports is F'd up.

We can add that Prince...former prince? of England and that twat he married as anti-Rogan. They want out of the spotlight, so they flee England.....and come over here and insert themselves into the WORST culture about following celebrities. And now they use the fame they don't want to voice their concerns over Spotify airing Rogan. Oh, they have their own podcast on Spotify.

:s uicide:

The truth is a threat to the crz far left & cancel culture crowd. This is all about power, and the JRE is more powerful than CNN, and these other crz orgs, and that makes them desperate to try and control JR, but they’ll fail, and hopefully this is the start of the end of this lunacy, normal people are sick of this nonsense

It's really amazing how threatened they are when they don't control the narrative. Leftists control the traditional media and social media and it isn't enough. It's not that Rogan is right or wrong, it's that they can't control what he says. He's the biggest threat because he has the biggest audience.

It’s really fucking chilling. Someone asking reasonable questions is public enemy number 1.

But they don't hear the reasonable questions. The people complaining don't listen to him. They just see a 1 sentence quip on MSM and think they know it all.

Here’s a heartwarming story about someone not famous like Rogan who was hired for being black then fired for not having the views his liberal bosses thought he should have

https://jamiljivani.substack.com/p/fired

Canadians strike me as a lot of liberal racists, based largely on the input of a mixed racist friend who lives there.
