đź“°News The :goodbye: thread

He had Top Gun, Doors, Real Genius, and Heat.

That ain't nothing.
I didn't care for the Doors. Top Gun, not exactly a bunch of screen time. Supporting cast, anyone could have played it. Heat, a bit of a side character, that was Pacino and DeNiro's movie.

Real Genius is good, whether it's held up over time, dunno, haven't watched it in years. Always enjoyed though.

But Tombstone....He stole every single scene. People still quote that movie today. The pinnacle of his career, no comparison. You could actually argue that Batman was bigger than those others (I won't say better  )

Tombstone was definitely a great performance, but Top Secret was his best movie and I will die on that hill.

On the other hand, he also starred in one of the worst movies ever made, The Island of Dr. Moreau, and he was reportedly a huge asshole during that production (which was already in trouble for a lot of other reasons).

I liked him in just about every movie I saw him in, all of the ones listed above are great, I really liked him in the remake of "The Saint", loved him in Tombstone. He was really, really good in "The Ghost and the Darkness". Sad to see him go at 65.
