kid near me was stabbed in a massive fight. This is a fairly bougie safe area, there's a starbucks and one of my friends lives a block away. Its near the city high school (the one in remember the titans btw) so masses of kids go to this shopping center and mcdonalds. there have been incidents before, and in the past police would break up their fights and loitering but after BLM I'm sure they are afraid to break it up and be accused of harassing mostly black and brown kids. So this is allowed to occur and a kid ended up getting stabbed and dying. well done.

Uncomfortable topic is uncomfortable, but young black men are responsible for about half of all violent crimes, including gun crime. That's a more serious issue than than these periodic spree killings (no matter how horrific they are).

That's the same issue every time they bring up racist killings, yet the majority of blacks are murdered by other blacks. The left constantly points at an invisible boogeyman.

The problem is they include gang bangers in those statistics. They're not innocent f'n victims. You remove gang members killing each other and the child deaths by gun doesn't even come close to matching car accidents.
 
If politicians were serious about doing something about gun violence, they would propose a widespread gun ban and confiscation, which of course would require a repeal of the Second Amendment.

But no one will talk about that. There are good reasons not to do away with the 2nd Amendment, and I personally agree with keeping it, but none of the half-measures typically proposed in the wake of a tragedy like this will prevent future gun violence in a significant way.
 
It all boils down to if you outlaw guns only outlaws have guns. If you don't think this guy or the supermarket kid or every gang banger in Chicago wouldn't be able to get a gun if they really wanted to if they were illegal. That would work as well as the war on drugs has imho.

The supermarket kid should have been flagged. This guy just a random pissed off loser that I think the fucked up pandemic policies have helped create.
 
There’s some things they could do that would help that doesn’t involve guns. First, fuck gun free zones where all these shootings take place. It only makes easy targets. Fuck defund the police. More police, more armed protection at schools by trained professionals. If we can send 40 billion to Ukraine, we can better protect our schools. But they don’t care about the border either, so that’ll never happen.

I don’t know why more schools aren’t like my kids’. All doors are locked except the main door that leads to the office. From there they have to buzz open the door, where you can’t go anywhere without an escort anyway. There’s no excuse for this not being the case at every school. That ends basically all kids being in danger except before and after school.

Now there’s stuff like my kids graduation Friday, where you’ll have a cafeteria packed with kids and adults. But I can’t carry there because law abiding citizens don’t break the fucking law. Liberals can’t seem to grasp that those laws don’t work. Not a single shooting like this has happened by a person with a CCW, member of NRA, etc. who the liberals blame.

And stop ignoring red flags. This kid had a history of violence and doing bad shit, coming from a bad home. Harsher punishment or put them in a psych ward for all I care. Mental health continues to be ignored and liberals refuse to accept that’s part of the problem.

I get the feeling there is a back door, maybe next to the school officer's trailer and he got by that cop somehow. Sounds like maybe a Mexican standoff ensued with the kid getting in. Curious what that cop says. I also think he had an armored vest (without the plates) so that cop was probably with just a handgun and feeling a little outgunned.

All I keep hearing on twitter from the liberals is that "HE WAS WEARING BODY ARMOR!!! NO ARMED COPS WOULD DO ANY GOOD!! SO BAN GUNS!"

Ugh. We don't know the facts yet, so it's stupid to assume right now. But even if his plate carrier had armor it....that only protects your chest. They don't even cover the gut. He's not fucking iron man over here. And getting shot in armor would still hurt like shit and probably stagger you if not knock you down. Armor is meant to keep you from getting dead when you're shot, it doesn't make you invincible like you're going to keep moving forward with being shot 10 times like in V for Vendetta. If he was just wearing a tactical vest to hold his mags, there's no excuse. And a cop should be able to tell if a person has armor in their carrier. Unless that kid spent $500+, he's wearing steel plates that add 20 lbs.

Unfortunately, IF the cop did confront him and then stood down, then fuck him with all the dicks if he traded his life for all those kids. But the initial story was that he engaged and was shot. So who the fuck knows.
 
Apparently, it took the cops at least 40 minutes to get a key to the room where he was shooting kids. FORTY FUCKING MINUTES!

How's that even possible? They should have a key to classrooms in 2 minutes tops. Could no one kick the door open, use an axe, or ram it down with anything for 40 minutes? WTF did they do for that entire time?
 
It's worse than that. Sounds like the local cops didn't attempt to engage. It was off-duty border patrol agents who ultimately went in and shot the perp.

There's a video going around of parents and other bystanders outside the school, urging the cops who set up a perimeter to go in and get their kids out. Some of them even talking about storming the school themselves. I think there were cops inside at that point and these were just trying to keep things orderly, but it's a bad look.

That's been the liberal rant I've seen. Well it's texas, you don't have any gun laws anyway, why didn't all y'all gun nuts shoot them if guns are the answer!

It's absurd how many anti-gun talking points I've seen on twitter that have zero factional basis. Claims that there are no background checks when buying a gun. Claims that the Founders never could have imagined firing more than 1 bullet at a time when they wrote the 2A and they'd never allow guns if they kenw this would happen - This ignores the fact that the Giodani was invented 11 years before the 2A was ratified and held 20 rounds in a tube and could fire 100 rounds a minute before the air was depleted, which was the reason for Lewis and Clark not getting scalped on their expedition. So to keep repeating that the Founders "never could have imagined" when they already knew first hand is pure ignorant, as is every other liberal stance.

And then all these god damn Europeans and Australians keep chiming in. Seriously, we don't fucking care if you dont' understand our Constitution. You had cops tracking your movements during COVID and inspecting your groceries to make sure you didn't have too much alcohol in the order, so you commie loving beta's can fuck off.
