🤷WTF? T S I F U

Unfortunately the sop for cops is to form a perimeter and get a negotiator to try to talk him out while swat is scrambled.

But when you are hearing shots ringing out and kids screaming whoever is there needs to go in and put down the threat. When you get to wear the badge that is the vow you make.

Same situation at Parkland and columbine if I recall correctly.

Well the SOP is fucking bullshit. Negotiators are for hostage situations, not murderers. These cunts go in with the intent to not kill and not come out alive. The only SOP should be to put as many bullets in the shooter as quickly as possible. And a bonus if you shoot them in the kneecaps, stomach, and arms and let him bleed for a while before putting one into the head.

I wonder if they were afraid of being called racists.

In that community, I'd imagine everyone's at least part Mexican.

god damn, thats horrible. if you have children dont read the story of the kid that hid under a table in the classroom.

So the shooter sat outside firing shots for 12 minutes before entering the building. Not a single cop or even the officer on site could do shit? Wtf was the school officer doing, taking a shit the entire time?

I haven't seen the source of claims or proof, but rumored events that happened:

Police weren't cowards, yet a mom was able to drive 40 miles to the school, run into the school and rescue her own children (after the police handcuffed her to prevent her from going into the school). All while the police stood around waiting. You called this one wrong, look at the timeline.

So, nothing about how during a news report, a sheriff's deputy actually admitted that the police did go in, rescued their own children first, and left while not only the shooting was still going on, but were at the same time detaining parents that witnessed it or parents that wanted to rush in to save their kids?

Apparently these small town cops have no supplies. No armor in trunks, no AR or shotgun in their passenger seat like city cops do (even Gainesville cops have AR's and shotguns). So that's why they weren't rushing in...they'd rather have kids get shot than possibly get shot themselves.

There's a lot of rumors floating around about this stuff. The cops stopping the parents from going in seemed to be well-equipped to me. Supposedly, law enforcement soaks up 40% of the town's budget.

And the border patrol agent who went in and finally shot the perp is also rumored to have driven from 40 miles away.

I mean its not that surprising that small towns don't have swat units or are ill trained. There probably ought to be county and state resources to show up for this sort of thing though, as well as actual locked doors and a handful of trained teachers or other staff.

They also need to eliminate this gun free zone bullshit. Law abiding citizens who carry a weapon legally on a regular basis have never shot anywhere up. They do however stop crimes all the f'n time that never makes the news.

Not being able to say, carry onto school campus...it's not logical.

yeah as I said about the Luby's event in Texas, there is a history there if any place.

there should also be some sort of emergency response that is more efficient than a wife texting her border patrol husband. I mean the Texas Rangers have a lot of resources. Hopefully they set up some sort of better way to deal with this - try to limit the possibility of it recurring and improve the response.

Well the first thing is to lock the fucking doors like you're supposed to. This likely could have been prevented if the staff simply did their job.

But on the response, I just don't buy the "there's nothing the police could do because of SOP and they were outgunned with no armor, so they couldn't go inside" bullshit. He stood outside shooting for 12 fucking minutes before he went inside. You're telling me that in a tiny town like that, there were no cops that could have gotten there before he went inside? Run his ass over with a car or something. Why didn't the school officer go outside. Are we to believe no one heard shots going off for 12 solid minutes?

It was a miserable fail at every level. Yeah they need more resources and funding, 100%. But a fail to this level is inexcusable even given the circumstances.

I don't disagree that the cops involved were poorly trained and apparently cowards.

I think that teachers and staff carry should be something considered and evaluated. My cousin is a teacher and 6'4" and looks like brian urlacher, grew up in the country and can handle weapons. I think for responsible people its a good option and may be a deterrant.

Yeah, as usual, the problem with arming teachers is that both sides take it to the extreme. Lefties think it's going to end in more violence and gun nuts say to arm all teachers.

No, if the teacher is competent in firearms and has the legal means to carry, they shouldn't be prevented from doing so. I hate the gun nuts who say "everyone" should have a gun. No, anyone not comfortable with them shouldn't have them. That's how accidents happen.

My 4th grade teacher kept a revolver in her purse. It was known. Of course, kids also had rifles in the gun rack parked at school because they were hunting that morning.
