đź“°News Russia invades Ukraine

I get that, but Putins mindset is not new, is it possible a compromise could have been reached to avoid all the destruction, but I don’t know that. The US kinda went thru that, cooler heads did not prevail, and the South was utterly destroyed. Would Putin have compromised, and been able to save face? Dunno, but now it looks like he’s going to take them no matter the cost, otherwise he loses face & power, & likely his life. Wtf do I know though

So apparently there is video out there of Ukrainians shooting Russian POW's in the kneecaps/legs and watching them bleed to death.

Crickets from MSM.

Why are you in Putin's pocket?

Honestly though, an invading army that willing kills civilians. Women and children, shouldn't be surprised if there are some pissed off Ukrainians.

Lots of bad blood going back a long time. Stalin created a famine in the 1930s that starved to death an estimated 3.9 million Ukrainians. I don't think the Czars were fonded of them either.

No doubt, but if this were American soldiers doing such things - under any conditions - the liberals would be having a shitfit

Someone colored a poster board in as a Ukraine flag and put it at the entrance to our neighborhood. I feel like it's my duty to remove it tonight on behalf of the neighborhood to not virtue signal for all of us.

do people who thought ukraine should just roll over stlll think that?

Assume you're referring to me and I still think if they had surrendered there'd be less dead. It may be portrayed as heroic for civilians to try to block tanks but seems stupid to me.

The fact that they are seeming to be kicking Russias's ass and it appears Russia is putting them in camps does change my opinion somewhat.

Give them the mig jets.

so you think the dead bodies with hands tied behind their backs are fakes? to me its pretty clear why they didn't surrender, they know it would mean execution.

agree with weapons. Biden is so cautious and slow, like an ancient making a left turn

Don't think they're fake. But you've seen the "brave" civilians training to fight.

It's just like my friends that went to Nam described it. You don't want to kill civilians but you turn your back and they shoot you in it. So you take an everyone's the enemy stance. Not saying it's right but it is the reality of war.

you suggested that ukraine surrender to an army that shoots bound and defenseless people. You still going with that?

As I said my stance has shifted somewhat. When I made that statement there was a consensus that Russia would roll over them. I realize you with your vast military knowledge knew that wasn't true but I assumed it was. There also was not the video of the atrocities you reference.

But I still think fighting back will result in more deaths than not. If we invaded Mexico do you think the wise move on their part would be to fight back?

Maybe not. Not sure if History repeats itself, but there are echos, reverberations:

The Holodomor's Death Toll
The Ukrainian famine—known as the Holodomor, a combination of the Ukrainian words for “starvation” and “to inflict death”—by one estimate claimed the lives of 3.9 million people, about 13 percent of the population. And, unlike other famines in history caused by blight or drought, this was caused when a dictator wanted both to replace Ukraine’s small farms with state-run collectives and punish independence-minded Ukrainians who posed a threat to his totalitarian authority.

whenever you bring shit like this up with commies and socialists they still maintain capitalism is worse.

can we talk about how fucking stupid it is to have reports of our military/intel bragging about helping ukraine with killing russians? everyone knows that's what's happening, but to have actual reports of it for russia to point to is assinine. More fuck ups by this administration.
