⚡ACHTUNG!⚡ environmental thread

Well that’s the problem. I’m talking about a storm drain and they think I’m talking about a bridge over a flowing river that is channelized under a bridge. We have a teams meeting next week but it’s nutso in email now! I’m gonna have to go back and quote some court cases

Oh FFS. I just googled the definition to see if that's why they're confused and it absolutely is. Their example is ridiculous. "I asked for the river to be culverted".

A culvert is a (almost always) short length of pipe under permanent features to facilitate drainage. It's not really even a storm drain. Storm drains collect water into the inlet and direct it to stormwater management, it's an actual collection system. Culverts merely continue a drainage swale when it's interrupted by a driveway, road, etc. and a lot of the time that swale has so little slope you don't even see the water moving. I've seen a culvert used to balance the high water level between 2 adjacent ponds or wetlands, but that's fucking stupid to not use modified inlets with a window and skimmer.

Great thread on how one of the climate scientists we were supposed to trust tried to silence any critics - tactics the covidians doubled down on. Thank god he’s losing

Omg I didn’t know they were eei! For years eei was a normie industry trade, we’d sue epa together. I used to go for weekly meetings of a coalition there. Then their long time ceo retired and all the people I knew were kinda forced out. And they went deep into the green. The people in charge were nuts, not just dropping our coalition but making threats about confidential stuff. It wasn’t this lady but someone who worked for her. This is the normal progression of institutional capture.

A trade association, generally moderate conservative goes from working on keeping regs reasonable and lowering costs to having radical terrorism!

The climate Hamasniks continue to sink to new lows

from what I've read there was an inexplained pulse. The problem is there's no way to start from "the black" without fossil fuels. So while they won't say it was from renewables, it was from the over emphasis on solar and wind. Blowing up their nukes didn't help either.

Ha I was just talking to someone from an industry that needs a lot of fuel and burns alternatives to coal like old tires and the latest thing they want to burn is wind turbines. So those fuckers would finally provide power
