So I needed a new show to have on in the background, watch pieces of here and though. I pulled up Max and Gold rush was one of the first things I saw. I didn't hate the show, but haven't seen it in 10 years....Sure.
So if you don't know, the show follows around 4 mining teams around the Klondike as they mine gold and their absurdly expensive equipment (which is awesome, btw) breaks constantly. They really build up the drama, which is annoying. Anyway....
What's different from these new episodes of the last couple years compared to 10 years ago? All the women involved. It only took a few episodes before 2 women had a catfight over the walkies. One woman was on her phone while driving a massive dump truck. Another was worrying about her nails. The real bitchy, "I'm a bad ass" threw a tantrum when called out by the foreman and quit....forcing her beta husband to follow her. Another woman drove her 20 ton dozer into a very expensive piece of mining equipment because she wasn't paying close enough attention. Then we're treated to the woman who woe-is-me'd about leaving her 3 year old daughter behind in the lower 48 to come drive a dumptruck on a gold claim and sappy sappy (this is a 6 month gig). Here's an idea....value your kid over driving a truck on tv.
Sometimes the guys conflict on the show. Sometimes one tells another he wants to bash their face into the rock. They cool off and move on, back to work. Put women on the show and good fucking lord.
