šŸ˜Funny Things that amuse me

Have i shared this?

There's an outsourced IT guy who comes in every few weeks, his name is Joseph and he's really nice and acts happy to see you, and it seems rude not to reciprocate. He's a small asian guy, maybe philipino.

So I'm only in the office one or two days a week and tend to not bother with the names of people not on my team, particularly coordinators since they come and go. So accounting hires a guy who is small and asian and i said "HI" as if he's joseph but then I realize he's our accounting assistant. So now I have to act happy to see ALL the coordinators so they don't feel left out, and now they all think I'm NICE lol

Iā€™m sure I aggravated some people when I used to work in an office. I wasnā€™t the excited happy to see you type, but I did acknowledge people with a good morning etc.. Found it rude of people who would try to avoid any acknowledgment so Iā€™d make sure I continued to hit them with it, not like continuing to say it in the same passing, but the next day.

Some people are just cranky in the morning. Iā€™m a really cheerful morning person and Iā€™ve learned to tone it down

My dad was always upbeat in the mornings, he did not tone it down, lol. Mom and I were polar opposites. Made for some interesting breakfasts. :coffee:

I'm more of a go fuck yourself, all day person. My supervisor once told me that I need to be more friendly.
This is me, obviously.

I'm a morning person, I get all my important shit done first thing, whether it's work or shit around the house. But I always hated the cheery, over the top people in an office. We're at work, not on vacation you dumb bitch, why are you so happy? Personally, it seems like this is way more common among women....the cheerful, want to chit chat type.

I need to be clear, Iā€™m not about to chit chat with anybody am or pm, but I do feel the need to acknowledge other peopleā€™s presence when I see them, and am insulted if it isnā€™t reciprocated. I know itā€™s me and not them, but itā€™s just a courtesy I feel is necessary

Yeah, I had no problem with a simple, "Mornin" as we pass by. Agree that it's basic common courtesy to do so. Or a "How's it going?" if you're stuck at the coffee machine with them, but guys generally understand that's not an invitation to chat and we don't actually care, it's just a courtesy. That's why we say shit like, "It's going" or "not bad, you?", "can't complain".

Agreed. It's just common courtesy.
