🐊Gators Post-Napier-era Shlinks

Gators
Been a while since 2 warmup games. I just don't trust Lagways health. If he stays healthy though, this is the first time in a while we have had top 10 o and d line. The offense is stacked, D is solid except for half the db's but should have a ton of pressure up front. After at LSU week 3 we'll know how the season will go, barring injury.

Florida football quarterback DJ Lagway is entering fall camp with a new injury.

A source confirmed to the Gainesville Sun that the 6-foot-3, 241-pound Lagway has been dealing with a lower leg issue and is wearing a walking boot.

On3 Sports’ Zach Abolverdi was first to report the news Monday.

It's unclear at this point whether the injury will linger into fall camp, which starts on July 30. The Florida Gators open their season on Aug. 30 at The Swamp against Long Island University.

Something more positive:.

Florida CB Dijon Johnson will not face charges after being arrested in May following a traffic stop in his hometown of Tampa.

Johnson’s attorney, Tim Taylor, shared the news with Keith Niebuhr of On3 on Monday.

The State Attorney’s Office filed paperwork confirming that they will take no further action regarding this incident,ā€ Taylor told On3. ā€œWe have worked closely with prosecutors on this for the past few months and are pleased with their diligence and professionalism. Dijon and his family are happy to have this matter behind them. Dijon is focused on his academic and football commitments and is excited for the start of the football season.
Johnson originally faced 4 charges: possession of a controlled substance, possessing a firearm during commission of a felony, possession of cannabis less than 20 grams and resisting without violence.

A junior, Johnson has played in 25 games over the past 2 seasons. He made his first career start in the loss to Georgia and then returned to the starting lineup for the final 4 games in which Florida defeated LSU, Ole Miss, Florida State and Tulane. Last season, Johnson recorded 25 tackles with 16 solo stops, adding 1 QB hurry and 2 pass breakups.

The Gators open fall camp Wednesday as they gear up for Year 4 in Billy Napierā€˜s tenure.
