People are saying Venezuela for oil like it’s a bad thing but that’s in the us interest! Other countries should think again about seizing assets. We can probably also get better deals with Canada since there’s less need of their heavy crude

I don’t think it’s bad. Shit dude, failing the people and has oil that’s been blocked up for a long time. This is a killer for Russia and Iran taking a big bite out of oil prices in the near future. Bearded fucks in Iran may as well flee the country. They were teetering already.

Upfront, I AM NOT Denver. Voted trump, but got into politics cause of ron Paul. So honest discussion. #1 who cares, althoughi like the opposition lady. #2 private business made a dumb geopolitical decision. #3 why i voted trump, deport/reject errrrryone. #4 agree, dont f w us citizens, but if dumb us citizens weigh the risks, it's on them. #5 this is kinda what is the worst point as although usa is the best country in the history of mankind, would think it should be because we wait for someone to actually poke us, then unleash hell.
Just being open and I don't know any influencers. I read the law by bastiat, and that is pretty much my political basis.

And it’s not just the oil companies but who do you think ends up paying when their assets are seized? It’s not like we can do without energy. It’s actually why Japan bombed Pearl Harbor.

The world is a dangerous fucking place and having the us show its #1 keeps the shitheads in line. This was literally all good with no downside like bombing the Iranian nukes. It’s a correct use of the military

I don’t understand what you mean. Defense budget is set up for this. We don’t pay extra.

We pay more for energy when assets of American companies are seized by rogue governments. It’s completely logical to protect American interests and keep them from enemies and terrorists

Making China lose a big foothold in the Americas is a good enough reason by itself. However, if the government actually cared about that, they'd stop letting the Chinese buy American soil, let alone soil beside military installations. Everything mentioned is legit and all a win, but I'm 100% ok even if it was only about the oil. I like affordable energy. I like my air conditioning and I don't believe for a second that renewable energy is going to supply an entire Nation like they claim is possible. So oil oil oil

Fun story from a guy who should not have been telling this story. It was not publicized. A guy I had a loose work association with in the permitting process was a good friend of my dad's, known him since child hood. About 15 years ago he re-enlisted, got sick of public life. He's a Lt. Col, Army Ranger. He was drinking with my dad and told him this that happened since his went back to SpecOps. My dad told me when he was here this weekend and the Columbian dictator made their threats and condemnation about Venezuela.

I can't remember specifics, he said a name of an area. He was like, "Trump should tell her, remember <name I can't remember>". Apparently, per the Ranger on this mission, setup a 1 square mile perimeter in Cartel country. Killed everything and everyone. "Civilians" were given a chance to flee, but most didn't. Cartel men, women, some kids. No mercy, no exceptions, erased all life in that designated area.

That's how I think we should be handling these fucks.

Fair, but I don't think we can compare those 2 countries, regions, etc. Not exactly apples to apples is it?

Paid off Generals can be bought or coerced to not destroy their country. Not really the same as an entire country full of Neanderthals who just want to kill white.
 
Of course not, but as that guy pointed out....There are an assload of Generals. We know there are cartels and criminals. Do we really expect to be able to install an elected President and get our hands on the oil without taking that risk?
 
Any reasonable government would look at this and know “America getting its hands on the oil” is the only way to have success.

Iran China and Cuba aren’t going to want to look like China again
