This has pissed me off for as long as I can remember. We aren't any better about spending than the dems. We just spend on different stuff, but we are fucking ourselves hard

I’d urge you to be very careful who you listen to. This isn’t a spending bill, it’s making sure taxes don’t go up, paying more for border security, requiring work for Medicare and other priorities we call voted for. Stephen millers X does a very good job of explaining it.

it’s absolutely different than spending on a bunch of bullshit.

Gotcha, I haven't really read much about it, it's knee jerk reaction from seeing us spend like drunken sailors when we've been in power.
 
Part of the problem is the cbo which always undercounts expenditures and acts like a tax decrease is a loss. When reality shows tax decreases cause growth which increase revenue. Things like depreciation deduction allows businesses to put more money into productive uses like new products and hires which increases revenue

Let's really look at a big issue here:

Trump brought on Elon to run DOGE and make all these cuts, right? Yet Trump had zero intentions of restructuring anything, having the GOP codify anything. So what was the fucking point? It all screams that Trump used it as a completely disingenuous publicity stunt that ultimately means fuckall. A tool to point out theft by Dems, but not actually doing anything about it. I have a pretty big issue with that.
 
Steve Bannon....good God. Called for Trump to seize Space X under some military nonsense and deport Elon as an illegal alien.

I wonder if there's any truth to the theory that this is all staged to get some love back for Elon/Tesla as needs a way to divorce himself from politics as DOGE ends. Wouldn't seem unrealistic except for that Epstein tweet.

I don’t think anyone thinks Elon is normal, probably on the spectrum to some degree, he’s definitely a fruitcake, albeit a brilliant one.
