Politics Politics

I'll wait for X to fact check it, but I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe that's a "If he does blanket pardon his entire administration" as claimed he was considering.

Yeah, officially the White House is bragging about 1500 pardons (which are mostly commutations of sentences and not full "pardons"). Don't know where the 8000 number is coming from.

Someone else put something similar in X right? The Black Files show from Mike Baker I was watching had an episode on this about drones being sent out in swarms years ago as a psyop to see how the public would react.

Right. That's the prevailing theory - a misplaced source of radiation, we send out drones to find it, government normalizes the use of drones as surveillance.

Ok, yes, I agree, but why not change the law?
They should, but from what I've seen on X, A LOT of pubs/conservatives are still very in favor of weed laws. Especially with older Gen X and Boomers....the Devil's lettuce! Just too many fucking Bible thumpers out there. Actually seen a surprisingly high number of them on social media because of how far left the Dems went, much of the right leaned into the Christian thing to counter the abortion, child mutilation, etc. Pages I've followed for years that use to focus on guns or whatnot now constantly talk about this being "A Christian Nation" and "They need to teach the New Testament in schools. No other religion and if they don't agree with it, force them to act Christian". That's an actual quote. And thousands agree just on one page.

These self righteous hypocrites have taken every single Dem talking point, even their reasonable ones, and gone extremist on it too. Legal weed, ok...I see some more rational arguments like eg/pan who don't want to smell it everywhere (even though you could legalize it and still make it illegal to smoke in public, enforce the hell out of it). But I went from seeing some Pubs go from pro decriminalize weed to it being the worst thing ever (as they down half a bottle of bourbon).

I don't see that federal law changing anytime soon until the Dems come back towards the center a bit and stop giving Pubs every reason to counter with their own extreme. With Trump coming in and him having no vocal stand about this that I've heard, I don't think pubs in Congress want to touch that.
