Hopefully, my son will get his driver's license in June, which means I will give him my old car, the one I bought a few months before he was born and that I've been driving ever since - a 2004 Honda Pilot. It's been good to me. Over 350,000 miles, one transmission replacement, but nothing else major has gone wrong with it.

Since I've had good luck with Honda, I'm probably going to buy another, and I'm thinking either another Pilot or a minivan - the Honda Odyssey.

I have one more kid, she's 8. She does have some friends I can foresee driving around, so the minivan is appealing in that respect. Also, I can take out the seats, which gives me a shitload of space to haul stuff.

The Pilot is a good mid-sized SUV, though, and it's gotten me through a lot of years (also hauling stuff, plus a little bit of AWD in the snow back when I lived in DC).

What says the braintrust?

Hard to fault your logic, assume you buy used? I secretly hope my 2014 caddy srx4 will die soon, as I’ve been wanting a Ford Maverick, but it only has 133k miles, probably good for another 3-4 years.

I'll be no help here. I tend to buy junkers and drive them to they fall apart. My 2005 F-150 has 310K miles on it.

Once I know if these are going to be reliable this is probably my next vehicle

My sister loves her pilot and my Mom loves her odyssey. Can't go wrong with either really.

Vehicle prices I’ve seen, although primarily trucks, are 30% higher today than 3 years ago. Id hate to need to buy right now, even used. It has to crash soon, along with the bloated housing values

My mother in law has had Honda minivans since I've known her (22 years). They are pretty much indestructible.

That’s why I bought my MILs caddy suv in 2021, I just couldn’t wrap my brain around the prices, and fk a payment, even w 0 interest. I don’t even want to look now.
When does this inflation break? Everyone’s cost of living has gone up 30%+ since dumb fuck took ofc
