One thing I donā€™t like is heā€™s coaching the qbs & calling plays, which means no OC?
I'm with you Tommy. Especially since a guy like Joe Brady is now looking for a job.

Everyone points to Spurrier, but the last guy we had also called his own plays and seemed to focus more on that aspect rather than running the program properly

I'm willing to give him a benefit of a doubt on calling his own plays, but I agree, it doesn't seem to work for many. I also need context for "we aren't going to sign many in the early signing period". If he isn't going to scramble for fillers, that's great, I applaud that. If he is going to slow play our commits and push them to sign later as he evaluates them, we may not have enough bodies. The guys who are committed have to be 100% gator, they sure as hell weren't "recruited" by Mullen. At worst, they really want to be at UF.

I think if he sees itā€™s not working, he seems to be much more pragmatic than Mullen. He didnā€™t say no OC, just that he was coaching QBs & calling plays, which isnā€™t the norm, but not that uncommon. Whether or not he gets a OC remains to be seen. I think he understands one of the things thatā€™s made Bama so good is really really good QB play (not just Bama). I think on recruiting he means heā€™s not going to rush out & sign a bunch of fillers? If he hasnā€™t worked with JB, would be hard to bring him in as OC, most of who HBCs hire theyā€™ve worked with before

Yeah, I didn't notice that when I saw the article  I think I could bench a lot more with that screaming at me

Coach Hocke spent 6 years under Saban...I'm ok with this...

Hocke began his collegiate coaching career at the University of Alabama in 2009 spending six seasons on head coach Nick Saban's staff and was with Napier in Tuscaloosa during the 2011 and 2014-15 seasons. He helped coach three teams that won BCS National Championships (2009, 2012, 2013) and trained over 35 players that signed NFL contracts, including 10 first-round NFL Draft picks. The New Orleans native also headed the offseason Player Leadership Council.

Yeah, even if he moves on from BillyG the guy can pick the guys he knows and is comfortable with.

I assume Savage was good, not really sure, any Mullen hire needs to looked at hard. This dude seems to be a pretty heavy hitter.

Miami Herald is reporting that Cristobal accepted, UM did just fire Diaz and said an announcement is forthcoming

The players looked jacked in their oiled up glamor shots but they never seemed to get much push on both lines. I'm fine with Savage being toast.
