⚡ACHTUNG!⚡ Jimmy Buffett appreciation thread

Fave album: A1A, probably why I came to Florida
Fave song; In the Shelter. Surrounded by rich snobs at Purdue I’d put on my headphones and have a good cry

Went to see him with some of my boyfriends frat bros one summer. I was talking to someone down the hall and turned to run into a short girl and broke my nose on the top of her head. Just kept drinking and smoking pot. Drank a warm bottle of mad dog on the drive back from the show and made out with one of my boyfriends frat bros. After that he broke up with me.cried a little and listened to in the shelter

I'd have to say A1A is his best album overall followed by Changes in Latitude or Floridays. Obviously I've been a big fan for over 20 years, though I don't listen often anymore. Most of his albums have 1 or 2 excellent songs, 2 or 3 good songs, and a handful of "ok" to "meh" songs. Riddles in the Sand doesn't have any of his best songs, except maybe "Who's the Blonde Stranger", but it's one of his most consistent albums of good songs.

I really can't pick a single favorite song and have gone through periods of different favorites. Right at the top of my favorites is a song no one seems like to like or even acknowledge the album as a whole, Beach House on the Moon. Savannah Fare You Well, Cowboy in the Jungle, Beyond the End, Take Another Road, Whether is Here, Wish you were Beautiful. I could name 20 without settling on a favorite.

A song I really like from a very unpopular album, Sea of Heartbreak w/ George Straight. Although it is a cover....but A LOT of Buffett songs in the last half of his career are cover songs.

Been to a few of his concerts and had a blast at every one. Met him after one of the concerts accidentally. A handful of us managed to drunkenly walk into an area where we weren't supposed to be trying to find a non-cluster fuck way of getting out of the amphitheater and it just happened to be where Buffett was walking to his limo. He was cool enough to stop and walked over to say hello for a minute.

I have his “best of” cd, it’s all right.
His "best of" cd has a lot of just ok songs that were popular (also the reason a lot of people hate him). I hate Cheeseburger in Paradise and I hit skip on Margaritaville every time. I could probably name 20 songs I think are better that you'll never find on his greatest hits.

Have 4 or 5 vinyl LPs, bunch of CDs and a butt load of downloads on apple music. Really like some of his non big hits..Delaney talks to statues, Desdemona's building a rocket ship, he went to Paris, pacing the cage and many others. Fair winds and following seas and thanks for the songs.
