đź“°News Iran's ballistic missile atacks

They should understand what FAFO means by now, but they’re probably going to experience some more lessons in that.

14, 30,000 lb bunker busters dropped. Tomahawks fired from subs. 125 planes and 75 missiles. That's the report I've just now seen.

Damn, bigger operation than I thought. Though the 125 planes and 75 missiles isn't mathing. Maybe the 75 is for tomahawks and and the planes are just....whatever?

At about 5 p.m. ET Saturday, just before the aircraft entered Iranian airspace, a U.S. submarine launched more than two dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles against targets at the site in Isfahan. As the bombers approached their targets, the U.S. deployed "several deception tactics, including decoys," and fighter jets cleared the airspace ahead of them, checking for enemy aircraft and surface-to-air missiles.

"We are currently unaware of any shots fired at the U.S. strike package on the way in," Caine said.

At about 6:40 p.m. ET, or 2:10 a.m. in Iran, the lead B-2 dropped two "bunker-buster" bombs known as the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, or MOPs, on the site at Fordo. Over the next 25 minutes, Caine said, a total of 14 MOPs would be dropped on targets at Fordo and Natanz. The Tomahawk missiles landed at Isfahan after bombs were dropped on the two other sites. Caine said no shots were fired at the planes as they left Iranian airspace.

"Iran's fighters did not fly, and it appears that Iran's surface-to-air missile systems did not see us. Throughout the mission, we retained the element of surprise," Caine said.

"More than 125 U.S. aircraft participated in this mission," Caine said, including the B-2 bombers, fighter jets, refueling planes and surveillance aircraft. More than 75 precision-guided weapons were used in the attack, Caine noted.

Definitely not. Impressive. Although doesn't Israel basically own that air space right now? They've been bombing them and I believe has taken out some air defense and such already.

News this weekend said Iran basically has no air defense left. Their only game is to launch missiles. Don't know how much of that is true. Talking heads say untrue shit all the time

They...at least muslims, do have sleeper cells here. There was a leaked report from the FBI a couple years ago that we track and monitor at least a dozen known cells around the country near big cities. The FBI has videod them running drills and training. Now why they aren't Gitmo'd, I don't know. And we know plenty came in under Biden.

Now can they actually carry out big bombings? Doubt it. But they could martyr themselves by shooting sprees....but that's a one and done. How many people do they have here willing to kill themselves just to kill a few strangers before getting shot?

Seems to be true, and their ability to launch missiles is extremely limited. Each time they launch, Israel is locating and trying to eliminate the launcher. Israel is bombing them with Aircraft now and getting no resistance. Much cheaper to drop bombs than launch rockets. Couldn't do it if Iran's anti-air program was still in tact. Look at Russia three years in and cant really use aircraft for bombings.
