There's some thought that these are merely illumination flares (as one guy in the Twitter thread points out), but I would think the Marines would be familiar with those - and in fact in the videos they comment that these lights don't behave like flares.

This one's pretty fucked up. Woman gets an experimental brain implant that helps with her devastating epilepsy. Company that makes it goes tits-up, and she's forced to have it removed (although it's not clear to me how it was forcibly removed).

A brain implant changed her life. Then it was removed against her will.

Her case highlights why we need to enshrine neuro rights in law.
